Interesting...I checked out your website and was impressed and disturbed. I found your paintings intriguing; what is your intent and/or inspiration? There is a certain darkness and grotesqueness I appreciate and yet I wonder what it is that drives these images.  As a photographer also interested in darkness and the unknown I understand that the expression of such things is not always explicable, but if you had to give it go....

I believe your intent is to expose the lies that create a culture of fear...and with Halloween on the way and speaking of instilling fear...I heard a great "This American Life" on NPR a few years back on the Hell House hosted by Trinity Church in TX.  It is really quite disturbing; essentially it is a haunted house depicting sinners and hell; the young girls fight over who gets to play those most wretched of sinners...women who have abortions.  They also described scenes of gay men dying horrifying deaths of AIDS. It is extreme for sure but it makes me wonder how a culture of fear affects the youth of this country...following are links to a documentary movie on the topic, articles, and the NPR story.

I am just curious why you chose to make Nanny white instead of black?
