1  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 10 in The Swap Gallery by dsdiviny on: May 05, 2009 09:06:20 AM
Yay!  I received last night from Ffrogg526!  We've been doing a lot of chatting throughout this swap and she sent me just the most awesomest package!

Okay, I believe in pics, excessively!

The first thing I noticed about the package when I pulled it out of the mailbox was how good it smelled.  I nearly ran home to tear it open.

The grand opening!  Ffrogg526 is very smart.  I wasn't so kind:

Candid cat shot.  Honey thanks you for her new box (Honey, the cat, has a "thing" for boxes):

The prize:

The result (I could not have been bothered to wind while I tore into it, it was too heavy!).  I really really love this variegated purple/white wool yarn.

I have been really wanting to make myself to crochet slippers, and that's what I got, plus a crochet magazine, and a fun new age magazine (you cannot go wrong with a magazine that has fairies on the cover, that's all I'm saying):

Look!  I was good and rolled the yarn!  My package came with several handmade thank you and happy birthday cards (plus envelopes), an Ashville NC sticker, a personal letter (thank you!), Ffrogg526 favorite tea (which is so beautiful), yummy scented Tibetan candles, three quartz stones, a quotable magnet, a bamboo (I love bamboo!) afghan/tunisian hook, a notebook with hand-written quotes and designs inside (I took the pictures at 4am this morning and no one else was conscious to help me flip through it to take pictures of everything), a magnet notepad, skully scrap fabric, and hand-painted river rock:

There was also a maroon and skully hook rollup, and I really love those colors together!  Some Vietnamese (litchi) gummies, more hand painted river rocks (by hand painted I mean by Ffrogg526),  sea glass (perfect because I needed these for an upcoming project), crochet flower motifs, and foam skullys:

The not-so-chewy-center:

More pics of everything:

Closeup of river rocks:

The tea:

There was also a beret I forgot to get a pic of.

Thank you so much for everything!

I have one birthday present to finish and my mom's day present to put together, then I will make my slippers and post the pics from that over the weekend.

2  Re: Amazing Crochet Motif Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by dsdiviny on: April 16, 2009 09:07:53 AM
I received from Wyked some really awesome motifs!  And I had to fight for them too!  My neighbor ended up receiving them and tried to bring them by and tossed them on my back patio, so it took a couple extra days for me to get them.

Sorry about the crummy pictures.  We are moving and there wasn't a clear surface to shoot them on so I brought them to the office where my desk isn't much cleaner (and IT dept = cave-like lighting)

Here's everything!

The variegated sun motif is attached to a navy blue square which gives it lovely depth.  I have matching yarns for these so I am going to have to figure it out and make some of my own:

I love these!  Thank you so much Wyked!

Yay!  I finally got all my electronic devices in cooperative negotiations!  Here are my awesome swap motifs from midnight7649!

These are my favorites:

Where did these motifs come from?  I must duplicate en mass!!!

Thank you so very much! ^_^

Yay!  Customs finally released doyouloveanapple's package and delivered on Monday! Our girlies love everything.  We tried to get some good action shots and caught some video, but man those girls are fast!

Here is the box.  The funny thing I noticed was that it was the box I sent!  I remembered it by the funny accordion winkling on one side.  My husband noticed the cute little note on the front:

The first objects out of the box are one of Honey's favoritest toys in the whole world: plastic jingly balls!

(Powering up teh lahzers)

(Full rabbit-kick mode.  Honey is known as "The Breaker of Toes" amongst the rabbit-folk)

This was one of my favorites!  Honeycomb on one side and Leaves (Amber) on the other.  I am thinking I will use it as a kitty picture box and keep treats and catnip inside.

Amber is the shy one.  She's kicking back while Honey goes crazy on just about everything:

Contents of the jar: two catnip mice, one catnip fish, and a mountie stamp!

doyouloveanapple also made these really beautiful red and purple cards with images of Amber, Honey, and Honey and Amber together.  The images were too big to host on Craftster and I was too lazy to resize them, so you'll have to go to my Flickr page for those.  See the set called "Pet Lovers Swap".  There is also some video of Honey enjoying the packaging tissue, lol!

Thank you so much, doyouloveanapple!  One of the jingly balls had a tragic ending this morning when my husband woke up he accidentally stepped on it Sad  Honey quickly stashed the other one safely under the bookcase after that!

Yay!  Thank you williarl13 for the awesome swap!  I was just floored when I opened the box!

Be forewarned, I am somewhat sedated so these pics might be wonky.

Here is my kitteh Honey (whom we lovingly call the Breaker of Toes or Bunny Killer)
helping with the unveiling (conveniently blocking addresses!):

First there is the rawkin' poster from the comic book (I think my husband will make off with this one):

Buffy the Game.  Can you believe she found this at Goodwill?  Who would give this up?  I seriously see a theme party revolving around this:

Decoupage tin filled with yummy chocolate kisses!

Evil Willow Pillow:

A new spellbook, um, I mean journal:

There was a picture of Willow and Tara in the back, but the Powers That Be kept interfering.

Now, I saved the best for last...

Wait for it...

Stilling waiting?

It's freaking awesome, your patience will pay off....

Pump Fiction!

Ugh, the pictures really suck, but they are fabulous in person, really!  Makes me sad I can't go out and wear them right away!  (And yes, they fit!)

I just realized I am a total goob and never posted my schtuff!  I don't have pics of what my partner sent me, but here is what I sent LifeInNeon:

Star of Life Pot Holders, 2

Here's a shot for size perspective:

Uterus Tampon Cozy:

Eyeball Cat Toy:

LifeInNeon didn't like eyeball wall art, so I thought the cat toy might encourage said kitteh to protect her.  Apparently, the kitteh is a bit scaredeh of the cat toy Sad

Epic fail!

These were originally supposed to be dishcloths (I dl'ed the pattern from joanns.com) but my cat Honey loves them, so...

...I let her keep them.

9  Kitty iPod Cozy (image heavy) in Crochet: Completed Projects by dsdiviny on: June 30, 2008 08:52:18 AM
I made my mom an iPod cozy for her birthday (Sept 2007) and finally got the pictures uploaded to the computer.  I used RedHeart worsted acrylic yarn in "nude" and some Lion Brand worsted wool yarn.  Single crochet sized to fit an iPod.  I don't know how I did the face and ears, lots of trial and error.

Back of the kitty before I put the button on.  With my hand for scale.

Here is the button!

My 30G iPod modeling the finished product.  Used it as a guide for the size.

Turned inside out so you can see the back-stitching (aka guts!).

Ta-da!

Mom loved it.  She uses it as a camera case now.
