212  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Slytherin Bottle from Harry Potter on: April 13, 2007 11:01:35 AM
I engraved a bottle a while ago with a Slytherin Crest on it, an filled it with green liquid. It is meant to look like a potion bottle from Harry Potter.

It now has a green ribbon tied around the neck of the bottle, to make it look more pretty!

Wow- you've inspired me! If I find a cheap blue hoodie, I want to make one for Girl Guide camp.

For those who have made a dino hoodie with spikes all the way down the back- how did you attach the spikes?
215  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / belt loops on: April 13, 2007 10:27:40 AM
I recently acquired a new pair of jeans, but the fabric part around the waist needs belt loops!

I have some red fabric, and some ideas on how to attach them, looking at other trousers, but I still want them to look cool/unique and not simply straight like the ones on most jeans. Any ideas?

Thanks.
216  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do you curl embroidery thread? on: April 13, 2007 10:16:46 AM
how about plaiting the thread, using hairspray to set it, then undoing the plait? Would that work?
217  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / black dog on: April 13, 2007 10:15:08 AM
I'm making a soft toy dog for one of my friends for her birthday. I was going to make a grey wolf for her (she's a fan of Harry Potter and her favourite character is Remus), but I didn't have enough grey furry fabric, so I've made a black dog instead (Sirius!)

It's half done- the pattern has been cut and for now I've pinned it together (to see what it would look like).

The pattern was taken from http://www.silverseams.com/blog/patterns/2006/08/basic-standing-wolf-pattern.html
