1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / easy chain scarf! on: January 02, 2014 05:12:13 PM
Well I finally got the guts to finish a project, I was inspired by chain scarfs from pinterest and etsy.
It was easy to make just chain a ton connect in one spot and wrap yarn around the connection
(but really you don't even need to do that I just did it to make the loops stay separated).
I used half a skein of yarn, total stash-buster project.

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / I completed a project! Tea for Me! *updated photos* on: March 21, 2008 10:39:29 PM
I know... no tea cozies without irony...  Tongue
It's not all that ironic - but it did kill a couple hours!
I'm just amazed that I actually completed (and photographed) a project without leaving it half finished for weeks.

My Tea Pot was naked (and I think living in sin with the French Press) so I went through my scrap stash and got to work.

Here's a shot of the cozy in all it's glory (and my sublime stitching inspired attempt at embroidery).

edit: to fix photos. Smiley
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Minty Rice Heating Bag on: March 02, 2007 06:43:02 PM
Well I know all my friends and especially my sweetie are tired of hearing me whine when I get cramps or aches and pains.

So I made myself a comfy heat pad out of a cool cotton flannel fabric I got at my local quilting store earlier today.

Plus it was an excuse to use the sewing machine. Wink

Fabric: Printed Cotton.
Filling: 5 cups long grain brown rice + crushed dried mint leaves. Mmmm. Minty.

Only took me about 20 minutes all together and I had to hand stitch it closed because I'm totally inept at that sort of thing on the machine. I'm such a sewing newbie. *laughs*

But I'm so proud of me!

Mmmm Minty.
And a close up of my inept hand stitched edging and the neat fabric.

Are you proud of me too?
Ah... at least the rice stays in and I'm not whining. *winks*
