1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Sewing Crochet on: March 26, 2011 04:56:48 PM
For items of clothing can you sew your pieces together instead of whip stitching?
2  COOKING / Dessert / Getting started as a cake decorator... on: June 19, 2009 09:55:17 PM
What on earth do you do with all the practice cakes so you have something for a portfolio?!

I would love to start cake making but would want to practice since I have not done it in three years, I believe...  But after you get all caked out what to do?!  I would find it sad just to toss it but I know it's impossible to always eat it.

Thank you.
3  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / 2 Bebe dresses on: June 08, 2009 06:52:21 PM

This one I'm assuming you would just make a simple tank top like dress then pull a piece up in the front and sew in place?

^This one I am a little confused on where to start.

There was another one but now I can't find it... darn...
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Measurements? on: March 03, 2009 11:49:09 AM
I'm sure someone has asked this before so I apologize ahead of time...

What are the most common US measurements for womens' clothing XS, S, M, L and XL?  Bust, Waist, Hips and inseams would be great please!

Thank you so very much.
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Two Bracelets I Made Today! on: January 18, 2007 07:24:17 PM
I went to our local bead store today with my friend and boyfriend.  And got some beads to make things.

www.thestringbead.c om

Anyway, first I made this bracelet that has black and whiteish-blue glass beads and a semi-precious stone scarab.  I forgot what actaul stone the scarab is but he's pretty nifty anyway.  He's a dark blue and black marblized looking stone.

Then I made this bracelet. It's medium and small sized red tiger's eye stones with three little pyrite bears.  I love this bracelet.  It's my favorite so far. LOL.

Sorry the pictures are blurry. For some reason the camera didn't want to focus.  Thanks for looking though.
6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Marinades or Dry Rubs? on: December 27, 2006 09:42:08 PM
Hi, I am looking for recipes for things like marinades, dry rubs and meat seasonings (something like Mrs. Dash.)  It'd be awesome if I could get some recipes to make up and have stored away for later use.
7  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Making a wig... on: December 09, 2006 06:02:21 PM
I hope this is in the right spot...  I would love to make a wig.  I currently have med-long hair but some days I would love to have short hair but... not all the time.  If I actually got it cut I would probably cry.  Does anyone know how, have pointers or tips on how to make a  wig and then cut it into the hairstyle that you want it in?  How about styling it?  What prducts can I use...

Oh, I want to make the wig short in back so I can spikey it and longer in front so I can have the "over one eye bangs."  Anything would help. thanks.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How would I go about making this dress? on: November 22, 2006 11:19:48 PM
I am in love with this dress and obviously it would be the same design (because I do not have that shirt.) But I love the basic idea of it.

Sorry if the images are huge...  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks guys.
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Need help for a bunch of friends for X-mas. on: November 01, 2006 08:04:44 PM
Let's see... where to start?

I already have some figured out but if you could come up with something to add or different I would be greatful.

Jess (20)- She loves turtles and is a rocker chick like me so I was thinking a of making her a stuffed turtle in red and black or some cool rocker-ish patterned plushie fabric.

Paul (21)- I have no idea here.  He loves his drums and Kurt Cobain...

Mikey (20)- I have no idea what to say about him.  He's a fun loving guy and I know he plays the game Magic the gathering.

Dylan (38)- Love's weapons and practices magick (the "religion" not the game.  Loves to drink but all of us do!

Jay (25)- This one is my boyfriend.  He loves aerosmith and atreyu.  I was thinking of doing a personal tee shirt to sweat shirt recon.  So that way no one else has one!

Jacqui (19)- I am buying her something but I would like something more.  She's a rocker chick and loves Chris Angel

The rest I have all figured out.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Making pants low-rise... on: October 27, 2006 06:50:18 PM
I love these two patterns but I do not like when my pants sit so high on my waist... I like more of the low-rise effect where they sit on your hips.  Can someone give me tips on how to do this?
