111  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 8! closed in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by rockmygypsysoul on: March 16, 2007 11:12:58 AM
ACK!!!!!  Im housesitting at my future parents-in-law in this itty bitty town and their (satellite) internet went out for the past four days AND the local library has been closed for spring break!!!  Im SOOOOO sorry.  They finally opened today, so here I am.  I am just SO sorry, Ive been dying to connect (because, as you might imagine, this little town feels like a black hole that Ive slipped into)

So anyway, I STILL havent posted pics in this post and I know, I should be shot, and Im gonna be totally embarassed because now nobodys going to ask for my bouquets cause they will have forgotten all about them

but for anyone who is still deciding here they are again....

I also have decided I want one of everything.

I too will be very ready and willing to do personal swaps because I am just blown away by how awesome everything suggested has been.

Ive been working on button bouquets and heres one of mine with ten stems (what Ill be offering)...please excuse the tipped over ionic breeze (it was hell trying to keep the kitten away from the button flowers for two minutes)

oh and uh, forgive its sidewaysness   Grin

114  My valentine's conversation heart charm bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by rockmygypsysoul on: February 22, 2007 08:12:39 AM
Okay, so I think conversation hearts are the cutest things in the whole world.  So I was DETERMINED to find a way to make a bracelet using REAL candy hearts and then some beads and heres what I came up with...

and heres a bit of a closeup...

Hope you like it!

Okay, I didnt make these exact ones...mine would be similar though although probably also with some beads (for shine and sparkle!) but this would give you an idea...

And to the best of my ability to see clearly, this bouquet has about ten stems, which is what Id be offering...

OKAY!!!

I am ever so sorry it took me so long to get these pictures-my darling fiancee who I love so much completely forgot where he put my cord that hooks the camera to the computer so...much searching (and cleaning) commenced and here we go...

So Im getting married in October, so CJSachiko decided to craft me a wedding day/bridal emergency kit and it absolutely rocks my whole world!!!

First, there were lots (and lots!) of practical goodies, each in their own little bag with their own very cute little note...

As you can see, there were tissues and a nail file and a sewing kit and tic-tacs, and eye drops, and stain wipes and nail polish and anti-bacterial hand gel and cotton pads and q-tips and bandaids and headache and stomach pills and a pill box (whew! I think that was it!)

Then there was ALSO adorable pearl bobby pins and an angel to watch over my day:

AND to top it all off (I know, so much sweet goodness already!)  She decorated the can and sewed a bag 9to keep everything in) using my wedding colors (cherry red, lime green and orange)

I just cannot tell you how floored I was (and now super-nervous my package wont be good enough (mostly cause i really know it isnt)) and so touched by it all!!!

Thank you SO much CJ and thanks to silentdimentia for hosting!!  This has definitely been the best first swap ever!!!

117  Decorated litter box... in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by rockmygypsysoul on: January 05, 2007 06:41:25 PM
So for my beloved cat, and to save ourselves our noses, we purchased a covered litter box, but (being a craftster and all), I thought "we could do better than green and gold and boring," so having no drawing/painting skills whatsoever (beyond the occasional cartoon character), this was the best I could do...

the start on one side (the paw prints continue all the way around the back)

the other side...

and a close up...

Aaaaand...just for fun....the subject of said painting

I know its nothing spectacular and my art skills are SADLY lacking, but I had fun with it and it seriously is a lot more enjoyable to look at!!

(PS, the cat NEVER licks or anything at it, and even if he did, it is nontoxic and I didnt spray it with anything just to be on the safe side, but he never does anything like that...hes never even scratched at it...)

comments are more than welcome!!!

118  My first jewelry... in Beads: Completed Projects by rockmygypsysoul on: November 08, 2006 06:16:02 AM
So last night while my DF (dear fiancee) obsessed over politics, I worked on doing my very first jewelry...

So a pair of earrings...

And one hanging (I dont even have a jewelry hanger/holder/whatever-

And another pair of earrings

With a matching necklace!

Theyre not complicated, but theyre mine!   Smiley

So thats it...comments are really, truly appreciated-I want to be able to make jewelry for friends and what-not as gifts since I dont really wear jewelry, but I like it a lot, so criticism and comments are much needed and appreciated!!   Grin
