105  Pac-Man Shoes (AKA I am such a nerd!) in Shoes: Completed Projects by rockmygypsysoul on: February 03, 2009 05:45:29 AM
Okay, so having returned from the virtual dead, and I have returned to craftster to beg forgiveness for my abrupt departure.  I became very ill at the same time I was trying to go back to full-time work, my engagement was almost derailed, then my job fell apart, etc.  It's been an exceptionally hectic and rollercoaster-ish 2 years, but now Im alright, things are back to relative calm  Tongue and I have returned, hat in hand.

But I couldnt really return without a craft because, after all, what better way to seek a crafter's forgiveness than with an offering of craftiness?

So I present...pac-man shoes.  In my traditional fashion, painted shoes, only nerd-style

the shoes were almost all white with some navy, and now we have these...

close ups (im not sure why the pacman shoe looks a little matte in some places and shiny in others, but its a litle shiny all over in real life...)

close up... (forgive the wet-looking spot, theyre still drying from the spray)

and YES, theyre fully functional!!

comments, criticism, anything's helpful...ive been out of the craft game since my wedding in october 07!...

RockMyGypsySoul's Land of Crafted Randomness

What we have to offer these days...(again, coming from a non-smoking, but pet-friendly home)

1. record bowls (33s) - 1 pt each.  I have about five on hand (very useful for storing supplies for different projects and stacking them!) you can request as many as youd like at 1 pt each...

2.  set of ribbon bracelets...two in greens, blues, pinks and browns, and two in black and white - 1 pt total

3.  button wreaths!  this particular one was one I did in a swap...I make these custom with either all colors or any particular scheme you may have in mind (as long as it has at least 4-5 colors) - 2 pts each

4.  my button bouquets!!  sets of ten stems - 1 pt per bouquet and I CAN do multiple bouquets

5.  I have a white 4 5/8 x 3 inch window CUSTOM PAINTED picture frame...if in a few days I dont get anyone to purchase it, Ill paint something on it and leave it at that - 1pt

6. and 7.  melted bead votive holders (still waiting for pics of these)...one is in pinks and purples and creams (very light colored) and one is in reds and oranges and yellows (very colorful); both look beautiful with candles behind them!! They are 1 pt each.  Please know that for safety reasons, I always suggest anyone who uses them puts their votive in a simple glass holder first...if there is a need, I can send one of these along!

I have more stuff on the way, but this is where I'm at today, so start shopping!!  Cheesy

107  Re: Shop the Swap Round 1 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by rockmygypsysoul on: April 07, 2007 09:24:51 PM
Shop is CLOSED for the rest of the month

Okay!!  I do have a kitten and a puppy and while I try to keep things from them, they get it EVERYTHING lol.  however, this is a nonsmoking home and my fiancee has serious allergies, so we try to keep things super clean!!

1. cherry blossom picture frame!! its a 4x6 teal colored picture frame with pink cherry blossoms on it.  This item has been claimed, but I can easily make another like it, in whatever colors you choose!

2.  Button bouquets.  Ive sold a couple and can easily make more!!

3.  a purple glass vase with melted beads in pink, red and white coming up from the bottom...imagine stalagmites (or is it stalactites that grow from the bottom?!) coming up the bottom of this square glass dark purple IKEA vase

4.  one record bowl...33 size...dont recall what the record actually is but by all means if you care, I can look!  Wink  if you would like a second one, i can easily add one to it (no extra points! lol)...i tend to keep these around to keep different things (like buttons, sewing notions, etc) in...

5.  set of 4 ribbon bracelets...two in black and white ribbon, two in brown, green, pink (and one with blue as well), ribbon

6.  button wreaths!!  this has not yet been made, although I made one for a personal swap that had a particular color scheme and it turned out like...

these can be custom made...but i have to have a minimum of four colors for a scheme...sorry!!  (i hate to deplete my button stash of any one or two colors completely!!)

7. i have a three opening wooden picture frame i will paint with any color/particular design youd like!!  claimed!!

8.  and the skull mirror!  okay, yes, this has been claimed but also, its very easy for me to make another, so if youd like it, just ask!!  Cheesy

9.  ALSO, i have very simple pink and AB crystal swarovski crystal earrings on sterling silver hooks...theyre pretty , but very simple.  along with this item, you would also receive the Springtime Hearts anklet as offered by serialcrafter in SSS8...its adorable and I asked for it, but I have given in to the fiancee and promised not to wear sandals this summer (Im deathly allergic to fire ants), so no real need for an anklet.  i actually have pics of these items but they were taken separately and arent very clear (moms camera has no macro mode), so i dont want to use that much space here...if you want to see them, shoot me a pm and Ill email the pics!!

sorry the pics are so huge-i used my moms camera and just went to motophoto and saved them on a disc...i HATE not being able to use my photo program...!!  Roll Eyes

108  Handpainted Harry Potter/Hufflepuff Shoes! in Shoes: Completed Projects by rockmygypsysoul on: March 27, 2007 08:36:59 PM
So I made these for a swap, but I worked super-hard on them and wanted to show them off here, too.  They didnt come out quite as well as Id hoped, but I was working on size 6 1/2 shoes - two full sizes smaller than Im used to - so I just had a hard time making them quite as detailed and "clean" as I like them

action shot of my swap partner wearing them - on the left, its the basic H from the Hogwarts crest (there was no way I could do all the animals that teeny) and on the other one is the best version I could get of the Hufflepuff logo...

if youll believe it, these shoes started out completely lime green-they were the only correct size they had.

the backs are plain black except each one has the HP lightning bolt on them as well

hope you like!!!

109  Wall decoration...or What to do with cheap IKEA frames (pic heavy) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by rockmygypsysoul on: March 24, 2007 03:22:44 PM
Okay, so everyone knows about Ikea's 3pk of frames for like $2 right?  Well, if you dont, you should.  Anyway, I bought a bunch of them and had them sitting around for forever until I finally decided to do this with them...
(forgive that its still sitting on the floor in this shot)

and closeups...

So now my fiancee and I have a unique wall decoration in the precise colors of our livingroom and the precise way I like things (even though it was, technically, a gift for him!  Wink  Cheesy

comments very welcome

she sent a beautiful handpainted spanish style vase/pot, mexican candies (im eating one as we speak and it is YUMMY), an awesome beaded bookmark and the book is Burro Genius by Victor Villasenor (available at: http://www.amazon.com/Burro-Genio-Victor-Villasenor/dp/0060566833/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-1617820-5127218?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1174440344&sr=8-1)

MissNewEngland completely nailed me and chose an awesome book!  Ive already started reading it and I am enthralled (or will be moreso once midterms are over)
