My high school art teacher did this project where she got one of the actual dispensers that those things come out of and then saved saved up a bunch of them and then her art students made whatever they wanted to put inside. Then they put it in the school and people can buy them and stuff, and the art dept gets the money.
Obviously buying a gumball machine would be expensive, but I thought it was a pretty cool idea for using the school's money.
So, in high school my art teacher gave me a box full of glass petri dishes. I probably have like 30 smaller ones and maybe 5-10 bigger ones. I carted them home in my friend's car, and it is a miracle that they did not all break on the drive home, but since that perilous day they have sat unused in the closet.
Well, actually, some of them have seeds sprouting in them right now, but once we plant the seeds in some dirt and pots and stuff, they will be empty and unused again.
