1  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Hallowen Countdown Calendar on: October 21, 2016 06:25:16 AM
Made this for the 13 days of Halloween swap - since each item needed to be tagged 1 -13, I already had 13 tags - just went on from there.  Each one of the original 13 tags slid into a bigger tag so I could write on the back and then my partner could remove the tag and throw away my notes.  The box is a cigar box, so the back (which would have been the lid) slides off and the other days' cards can be stored inside.  The front is just a cut down Scrabble tile holder and the card for the day sits on it.

Went a little Halloween crafting crazy this year - did the OTT Halloween swap, vintage Halloween swap and 13 days of Halloween swap.  It was all Halloween, all the time around here for a bit!  I made a few of these little guys, they are pretty tiny, about 1-1/2".  Started with candy corn (a personal fave) then branched out to pumpkins.

OMFG - I am in LOVE with this.  Love the idea, love the packaging - love the idea of your friend's party!  (I also love gin :-)  I did not know you could do this either.  (Although, I have visited a few distilleries and they explained how they basically make vodka and then flavor it to be all sorts of things - D'oh!)

I thought she http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=450534.0 needed a place to keep her goodies  Grin

This was originally a white cabinet with pastel drawers with one heart and one star shaped knob.  Prior to me, someone painted those drawers and knobs black (and did it very poorly - lumpy and streaky).  I thought the drawers cried out to be specimen drawers, and went from there.

Eventually, I added a few other things - like the candelabra - as can be seen in KittyKill's photo:

Thanks for the kind words JoyfulClover!  I posted her here, with details of what her parts are made of:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=450534.new#new
7  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Witch - paper clay, wood and wire on: October 20, 2016 09:30:05 PM
I recently completed the Vintage Halloween swap - a personal favorite.  I was inspired to make this young lady based on something in a similar style on my partners pinterest board, although she was equally inspired by something I made this summer - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=449920.msg5403610#msg5403610
I loved every minute of making her - except the part where I got severe swap anxiety because she didn't look all that vintage.  So, I overcrafted some extras to make sure I was covered Grin

Her head and arms are paper clay, her hat (and bats) are fabric.  Her overskirt and bodice are lace.  Her neck is a small wooden spool and her body is a large wooden spool on top of a weird wood shape I had, painted then embellished with metallic chalks.  Her skirt is wire, which loops up through holes in her body and is wound with beads and bits.  Her familiar is plastic and sits on an oversize spool (carpet thread) and fits up under her skirt.

Thanks for the welcome - happy to be here!  Although a bit behind the curve!!!  My mom had hip replacement surgery today, so I did some stalking while I was waiting :-)

Phew - all looks to be in one piece!  I always realize at packing time I should have made things smaller.  I think I forgot to tell you, the cat fits up under the witch's skirt (its tail pokes through the wire).

Ooh, did she lose her bats? There should be two tiny ribbon bats that go on the tops of the hat pins - just a drop of glue.
