I would say it's more of a burgundy color. I don't know though it looks different in certain lights. I do not have a picture of myself in my new dress as I'm very weird about pictures of myself on the internet. I do have pictures of my completed other variation included in this pattern. Sorry I didn't have time to iron the dress but you can catch what it looks like

22  McCall's 3617 in Sewing Pattern Reviews by piratestooge on: August 21, 2004 12:32:16 PM
This was a lovely little pattern. Actually at times the directions were a bit on the confusing end of things but it might just be me because I've only just barely started sewing. This is only the second non-pillow thing i've ever sewn so of course my stepmom provided lots of aid. Especially with the zipper. If anyone knows any tips on easy ways to put the zipper on let me know. My sewing machine doesn't have a zipper foot so there you go it's quite hard. And the lining was quite a pain in the ass to deal with as well. Oh and we had to make some minor adjustments in the bust area as I've not got as much in there as the pattern assumed. But all in all, it's a good pattern. There's about seven different varations you can make on it cahnging the neck, adding sleeves, etc. I actually started making the v-neck kind as well, it's almost done. Just needs a zipper errrrrrrrgh. But yes, here's some pictures.
