Alright, usually i come up with a great idea for a costume for myself. But I am stuck this year!!!! I can't decide what to be. I thought a girl ninja might be kinda cool. Well in looking for some type of pattern to work off of I had no luck. does anyone know of any ninja patterns around (that aren't too cheesy?)

I drew out an idea for the costume and thought maybe I can make my own pattern.....yah right.....

I did a quick search for this but was not sure what it would be called. I am in the process of making a dress, a simple A line dress. The material I have is kind of odd (but my friend who i am aking the dress for likes it), it has flowers on the pattern and at the bottom of the pattern it has like a line of houses....I want the line of houses at the bottom of the dress but when I put the pattern on it to cut it the bottom of the skirt curves up and will cut off the line of houses. How do I make it so the line of houses sits at the bottom of the dress all the way around. But at the same time keep the pattern on the fold

Wow! It sounded simpler in my head. I hope this makes sense.

So for the past two years my costumes have been pink (didn't do it on purpose). Two years ago i was deb from napoleon D. and last year I was Toadette. I have no idea what to be this year and I am racking my brain to think of something creative. But I DON'T know!! I was thinking maybe if I narrow it down to something in pink... but i still have not thought of anything. Any ideas?

But here it is my button bouquet =)

Its made with pretty shell buttons I found at joannes (ON SALE...) and floral wire. the vase was bought at Cost Plus and I etched a line around it with some simple squares. Thanks for looking!!

Here is what I made, my button bouquet. I love it so much, but it was a gift for a friend who also loved it alot. I have more of these pretty buttons I might just make another =). Hope you like. (I also etched the glass...if you can see it)

I was inspired by the tutorial for etching glass...

I am going to be doing my best friends wedding toasting glasses and need some practice before doing the real thing. So just for fun I made this one with her and his initials on it. Its simple and sweet. Not as good as I would have like it to turn out, but hey its my first time...

I thought of candles as well but its just not classroom friendly...especial ly for my little guys. We might just end up doing the tissue paper glued to the sides and put  fake flowers in it. Or we may make paper flowers with some pictures of the kids on them.
(we are going to be growing flowers in two weeks so maybe i can figure a way to transplant them in the glass)

I just want to do something different this year. Thanks for those ideas =)

Here are the boxes that I made to hold and give the mice in.

Now, I could have made them look even better by using a different color paper or something....but I was using work supplies (this is for work btw) and all they had was this tan tag board, so i printed out some snowflakes and some text, cut them out, glued them on and ran it through our copy machine.

Also I would have printed on both sides so that the dotted lines on the pattern would show on the inside of the box, not the outside (but its too  late for that now)

The pattern I found on this website, its a small pattern so I just enlarged it. The website has some very cute patterns for other boxes as well.

And the little mice hiding inside the box. I was also thinking (just to be silly) putting in some black decorating sprinkles in the box...make it look like little mice poo :p

Two friends and I just made this and they turned out very cute!! But...we will be using them to give to staff at our work...hoping we would give them out on Friday (before winter break).

Do you think that they will be okay sitting for a week, or do you think they might go weird. Cuz you know when you leave chocolate in the fridge it turns white-ish....I was thinking of just leaving them in a tupperware until this Thursday and then putting them in little boxes we made.

What do you think?

Here  I am in my cute Toadette costume which I didn't get to wear much. But it was fun making it at least!! Hope you all like.





Wish I thought to take pictures of the making of it...the hat was...well "oh soo fun to figure out"

Yah i did forget to thank my big sis for helping me sew the dress and vest and figuring out how to cut the felt pieces for the hat. She took an orange and peeled it and i sorta used that pattern. I really could not have done it with out her (i suck at sewing)
