I always seem to be asking for advice here, but never giving any back. Hopefully one day when I am a bit more experienced I can do the latter!
my question this time is does anyone know of a good rose pattern- am happy to pay obviously. I have Nicki Epstein's kniitted flower book and the ones in their are just not quite what I am after. I also want non-felted.  Basically want to make a bouquet of roses for my wedding day. Have seen what I am after here (well, something similar at least)http://www.theknitmonster.com/ourwedding-momspix001.JPG/ourwedding-momspix001-full;init:.JPG but there is no pattern. i have emailed the author of the blog too but not sure she will be writing up a  pattern. there must be something available online.. surely?

Yeah, it reminded me of the chain link scarf too.
I think the best way to do it would be knit one verry long strip and then knit that up. just need to think of what I can use for needles

the merino I have is very fine and I just don't think it will work with such huge needles. When I look at the picture it jst doesn't look that open to me.
Maybe I'll email the author as suggested (thanks) and see what she says as the ' web' yarn no longer seems to exist. I may just havea  look online and see whats out there with similar gauge that may work.

I am wanting to knit this: http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/na_knitting/article/0,2025,DIY_14141_5655813,00.html , but am stumped as to what yarn to use (I am in the UK). I tried knitting with a strand of laceweight mohair and a  strand of lacewight merino held together but I think I need to knit with smoother yarn as I just drove me crazy! It surely can't be bulky yarn becasue that would be heavy, wouldn't it? But then it is knit on 8mm needles. very confused 

Does anyone have any ideas. If you knit this, what yarn would you use? (can't seem to find the yarn they used in teh pattern)
