1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting Miniatures - Flickr set on: November 28, 2007 06:24:09 AM
I'm not really much of a knitter, but I came across this Flickr set of various miniature knitted items and thought you might get a kick out of it.

[edit] I dug a little deeper, and it looks like most of the adorable items are for Blythe dolls, created by someone called "knit_purr". Very cute, and the detail is impressive.

(If this is the wrong section, please move it accordingly - it seemed like the most appropriate place.)

Ha! That book really is cute - love it. I like that idea, too, of making the cards into magnets....  Smiley

Get ready for this one! I received my beautiful book from Phizzychick, including the ATCs from kateh, yberry, and shooting star.

My theme was medical illustration, and the whole package is so detailed and wonderful!
Here is the cover, the book open, and the four ATCs laid out.

Here are all three page spreads open and the cards in place. Look at the stitched heartbeat line!

The card from Phizzychick.

The card from kateh.

The card from shooting star.

The card from yberry.

Oh, I love it all - this is definitely better than I could have imagined. Thank you, ladies!

Oh, Feast Your Eyes - I'm glad you liked it! I had serious swap anxiety with you and dizzylizzy. My ideas kept falling apart while I was crafting.

I received my last card in the mail yesterday, from yberry. Now to just put it all together... Cheesy

Oh! I received my tin today from Feast Your Eyes - I love getting packages at work.

I lol'd when I opened it. She chose my lolcat theme and added in my Maneki Neko as well. She managed to fit quite a bit of goodies in that tin.

There are two shrinky maneki neko magnets, adorable beads (glass cat faces, a metal cat face, pink hearts and red metal flowers), a wooden domino with a dragon carved into one side and a pretty flower collaged on the other, with beads for the center, some lucky golden chocolate coins, a comb with a beaded flower on it, AND a cute collar for my cat with a bell. WOW! I've been wondering lately if I should collar him, in case he ever slips out of the house...you read my mind.

The pictures look all grainy because I'm stuck with the old camera at work, but Feast Your Eyes did such a nice job. The flower seems like it would take so long to weave!

Thanks again  Cheesy

I received my tin from dizzylizzy today while at work - it's hard to receive a package at my apartment unless I'm there, and it's such a nice surprise while at work!

One of my themes was coffee, and the colors dizzylizzy went well with that. I also really liked the circular and linear patterns together. The tin came wrapped in a crocheted coffee cup cozy (her first FO! very nice), and with a little sample of the coffee she likes.

Also inside were a bunch of little coffee recipes that sound yummy, like Gingerbread Latte and Iced Mocha Fusion Shake.

I especially liked the quote on the inside cover: "If it weren't for coffee, I'd have no identifiable personality whatever."

Thanks a bunch!

dizzylizzy asked me to post pictures of the tin I sent her.

I drew on a couple of her themes: hearts, stripes, and cameos.

I found a striped magnet, a cameo pin, and had a bunch of heart stickers in my stash.

After stalking her a bit, I saw she wanted a tree of life necklace, so I researched different interpretations of it, and tried my hand at bending some wire. I had to squish it into the tin, but it should adjust back into the shape you'd like. I've never used jump rings to attach pendants before, but the outer edges will hopefully work if you want to do that.

I'm glad it found you in one piece, although none of it was really too fragile. I did have trouble on this swap with both of my tins, in terms of the box itself, and had to restart a few times. Thankfully, it all worked out in the end.

Everything looks great so far! That cat tin is definitely close to my heart, and ashestoashes - I listed lolcats as one of my themes, too - can't wait to see when I receive which theme(s) are there.

I'm also impressed that the smurf village survived the mailing. Nosusanfx - your vampire tin is hot! My favorite part is the bite marks.  Shocked

sorry guys but as some of you know I have been in London for the last 2 weeks training.  Therefore I don't know if I have received any ATC's yet as there has been no one in my house back home.

I head back up to Scotland on Saturday though so I shall be able to send an update to everyone when I get home and get started on the ATC holder that I have planned Smiley  I hope this isn't inconveniencing anyone.

Everything's good so far, shooting star! Hope your training was fun.
