1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Minerva Dress on: March 04, 2009 04:07:53 PM
so i've been getting totally into victorian era clothing at the moment, and this is what i finished making last night

it's a full length dress, fitted bodice, with pleats in front and back, it's got a cute bow on the bum and a pleated sash in front... cept i did the pleats upside down on sash, but eh, it still looks good, i'll just have to make it properly next time

unfortunately i don't have any very good photos yet, but i do have a blog post with more pictures

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Kittycat Dress on: December 08, 2008 03:01:26 PM
being that my company is called Kittycat Corsets, i thought it was high time i got in and made a kittycat dress.

i've had this fabric sitting around for nearly 2 years and finally went through and cleared out my wardrobe which left me thinking. damn, i need new clothes.

so this is what i made for myself. - the Justyna Dress

i'm still iffy about the pattern, i had to take it in a bunch (too much ease in it i think) and i love love love the skirt part (actually made a skirt out of it as well - no pics yet)

but yeah, what do you think, Kittycat worthy?

i'm going to make a matching outfit in white for a shoot with this

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Time warp dress on: December 14, 2007 02:14:09 PM
so i made a new dress the other day, and to be interesting i used 'marilyn monroe' style fabric on the lower half of it. the pattern itself is a making history pattern, so i thought the pinup fabric was an amusing choice.

it is so comfy tho.

my love affair with grommets continues as well hahaha. and this is the first time ever that i have made puffy sleeves so i am feeling mightily proud of myself.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Ellah Skirt on: November 06, 2007 03:19:59 AM
so this one is going to be on tv (the musicoz awards) in late november Cheesy:D  apparently these will be shown on MTV for anyone interested

it's basically derived from a petticoat pattern but with a little bit less fabric (no underskirt) the tulle is just attached to the lower tier. omg, it took me soooo long to attach the tulle and the lower tier, there is like 8m of fabric to gather.

new pictures!!!!

worn with Arwen Corset
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Merryn Skirt - Pencil Skirt with front panel and pleated waist darts on: November 06, 2007 03:17:34 AM
i was inspired by this skirt that i saw when i was trying to figure out how to make pencil skirts. i saw it and thought, that is amazing.

now, one of my customers wanted me to make her a pencil skirt, so i thought a practice run was in order. the thing is, she wanted to be able to have a contrast panel in the front.

i made this pattern from scratch, not using a block or anything, and the second attempt yeilded a comfy fit (although i may take it in a little on the hips.

picks of first attempt (where i left out room for my bum)

pics of second attempt where it is a pretty comfy fit. i liked the contrast features that i added to this one.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Laurel Corset on: November 03, 2007 04:49:56 PM
this one is to die for.

i made it for laurel to wear to a ball to model for me, but the first one (the one with the busk) was a tiny bit too small

scene me having all of three days to make a new one in time for her to wear.

this was the result, and it fitted her perfectly and looked goddamn amazing to boot. it was also my first ever attempt at a front lacing corset so i think i did preeeety well.
