Thanks!  I got the fabric at Jo-Ann.  It was a lot more than I wanted to spend, but I fell in love with it and nothing else would do - you know how that goes!  Anyhow, it was $12.99 a yard, but I used my 40% off cupon and that helped.  I did mess up on a cut and went back for more for the skirt and used a yard and a half instead of a yard so it would be a bit longer.  Still so proud of myself!   Cheesy Grin Roll Eyes

I did it! I did it!!  I did it!!!  So...I just finished my dress and it is gorgeous!  It is technically my 2nd garment, but the other (another infinity) needs to be fixed (couple of missed spots sewing and elastic added because the skirt is HUGE!) but I finished my dress in time for Halloween!!! I am so glad that the structure of the dress allows for imperfections 'cause it is hard to sew stretchy fabric and being a novice and all....well, without further ado here is the link to my dress:  http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/7125/sp3380zg4.jpg  (I will fix this when it lets me!)

Not the best photo - I look all haggard, but I was so proud.  In case you can't tell the dress is midnight blue with gold specks and is a rectangle so the sides are jagged.  I will post more pics when I go out in full costume!

OMG!  I just tried my footless tights on without sewing and it kinda makes a shrug without sewing!!! I think I may cut the waistband off to minimize on the bunching (which can be tucked under and smoothed out) and also so it is easier to take off 'cause it was kinda hard.  I'm nervous about it though because I don't wanna ruin them! So...if anyone has any suggestions....Huh It's so PERFECT, though 'cause it will exactly match my tights that go to the dress (duh!)!  Loves it!  Will post pics!

Funny...I came on here to see if anyone had any ideas for a little bolero/jacket-thingie to wear on Halloween with my Infinity Dresshttp://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=104089.0 (in case there is one person left on here who isn't obsessed!) Anyways...I was thinking about the lace leggins that I have to match the dress as a startoff and now I know I can do this!  I just need to make mine more like a shrug or split it down the front and add trim.  What do you think?

I tried making this dress but had SERIOUS problems with the dress being WAY TOO big at the waist.  What measurement should I use?  I used the underbust divided by four method and that was HUGE!  Please help me 'cause I need this dress for Halloween!  Thanks!
