Here is one of my COLTS handbags that I made this week to show my INDIANAPOLIS COLTS pride!  GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the material that the other bags are made from.

Everyone around town loves the bag and so do I!

13  Another one... in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ShelbyBelby on: January 14, 2007 10:49:33 PM
well, I was a little keyed up still from watching '24' two-hour premire tonignt, so I made this handbag when I got home.  I used peltex for the first time and I'm really not too sure what I think yet.  It is pretty stiff right now, but I think that with time it will soften and shape up nicely.  ***crossing fingers***

Here is the front of the bag:

And the backside:

And here are closeups of the materials:

My mom didn't like that the fabric is upside-down on the back, but I told her that is how you can spot a fake Louis Vuitton, so it shall be for me too!  Wink  LOL

Overall, I think it's a pretty cute bag and I love the material which I got at Hancock for like $2 a yard.  I love FABRIC!!!

OMG!  So excited!!!  I just finished the cutest tote bag for the little girl I nanny for (she's turning two!) and it is soooo adorable:

Another detail

I am having her name embroidered on the front of the bag in pink tomorrow.  Can't wait to give it to her at her party!
BTW...sorry for the bad lighting and in the pics and I promise that the bag isn't so wrinkley - like I said BAD LIGHTING!  But I was too proud of my bag not to share.  What do you guys think???

15  Re: I Want A Winter/Holiday Bag! Swap in The Swap Gallery by ShelbyBelby on: December 06, 2006 02:22:20 PM
Here are some pics of the bag that I sent 'momwith3kids':

The bag is dark blue satin with silver snowflakes and swirls.  I really love the reverse side of the fabric so I did not use a lining, but I did use fusing to make the fabric double thick.  The strap/handle is silver wire (you can see it hanging over the bag in one of the pictures) with clear crystal-like beads (no, I didn't make it I found it with the trim at the fabric store - I cheat!).  I used a snowflake ornament to cover the snap.

Also, There is a star ornament on the table that I put in the bag that says HOPE on it.  I had a friend who died of stage IV melanoma this year and she had the ornament and it really became like a symbol or an icon for her to all her friends.  Check out her page herehttp://tebspage.blogspot.com/  It is a very touching an real look at her life and battle with cancer.

This was my first swap and I loved it!  I can't wait to do more!!!

As promised, here are the pictures:

Sorry the pics didn't turn out that well...my camera wasn't behaving quite well.  Although the pics I took of the bag I sent her turned out quite well!  GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Undecided

17  New Look 6620 in Clothing Sewalongs by ShelbyBelby on: November 16, 2006 07:53:49 PM
Okay...so I bought this shirt pattern tonight (it was like $3.50):

And here is the fabric I bought ($2/yd. @ Wal-Mart): http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/9598/picture001bi2.jpg  The fabric isn't ribbed - it just sorta looks it when scanned.  Also, the contrasting fabric is a solid royal blue like in the pattern.

I plan on starting this in a week or two (may wait until after Thanksgiving & after I finish my swap.) and I'm gonna do shirt D only I'm gonna prolly do the sleeves a little different 'cause I don't like to wear those tight bands on 3/4 sleeves or long sleeves.  They'll probably be a 3/4 version of shirt A.  Anyway...anyone wanna make it with me???

Me too!  I can't wait to get the deets so I can start on this bag!  Here is the one I made last night:

I hope you can tell how cute it is from the pics - they're not that good 'cause they were hastily taken with my digital as soon as I finished!
