I love the illustration!!!  They are so fun...kind of Tim Burton meets Precious Moments.  Sweet!  I had a baby, I'd want one.

Wow!  Ask and ye shall receive.  Onyxnox:  Can you explain the rolled up paper beads for a garland?

I'm fascinated by mention of magazine page woven purse.  I'm going to see if I can find a thread on that.

Thanks all of you for such great ideas.  I'm liking the paper garland and rolled up ball ideas a lot.

And the decoupaging boxes or making envelopes.

Thanks again, guys!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Any ideas for recycling gift wrap? on: November 15, 2006 02:27:25 PM
 Huh

Every year, my (rather large) family jeers at me and sighs loudly and heavily when it gets to be my turn to open presents.  You see, I can't stand to rip the pretty wrapping paper to shreds, ball it up and trash it like everyone else.

Instead, I carefully undo the corners and attempt to slip the paper off of my packages and I keep the salvageable, used pieces.  I want to show them all that my painstakingly collected bunch of used wrapping paper has a purpose.

Unfortunately, I've not yet come up with a purpose besides occasionally re-using the stuff for other people's presents.  I'm convinced there must be a more interesting, crafty project I can create with all my random pieces of christmas wrapping paper.

Any ideas?

Roger is SO Cute.  I made a witch out of a green gourd with a round bottom and a round top with a long skinny neck in between.  I'll try to post a pic of it before it rots.

Wow!  That's a lot of stuff to make in just one month.  I LovE that tunic that's light blue with a darker blue wrapa around tie that wraps around like 3 different times.

Did you use a pattern or create your own for that one?
