1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / help me! my hat is turning into a mobius strip! on: December 14, 2008 12:50:17 PM
hello! i am currently knitting a hat for my mama for christmas, and somehow it seems to be turning into a mobius strip like so:
http://web.syr.edu/~eqcallah/mobius.jpg

this is the pattern i am using:
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/spring-beret#
(sorry if you don't have ravelry, i think it is a pretty basic lace slouchy beret and not very hard at all)

sorry if this is really unclear, i will try to post some picture of it soon!

anyways, i was wondering if you think it will straighten out on its own? or should i start over?
any questions feel free to ask and thanks so much for looking/helping!

the song "if you rescue me (chanson des chats)" from the science of sleep is so sweet. it's a cover of velvet underground's after hours which is sweet, too but this one is adooorable.

8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / first silkscreening projects/first post! on: February 03, 2007 08:48:36 AM
well, i've kinda always wanted to try silk screening, and recently in history we were assigned a project, to make a t shirt to represent which member of the constitutional convention we were to be...i got robert morris, who was "the financier of the revolution". so, i took up the opportunity to silkscreen, and got some supplies. i drew the design by hand, and then got it put on transparency. it was loads of fun, and i think it turned out pretty well.
here's the links (i don't think i can post photos yet, can i?)

(i might mention that all the other kid's t-shirts were made out of paper...hee, i'm an overachiever)

and then, for an entirely different class, we were making a little movie on making cake, so i made t shirts for my group (i only have mine, though, sorry!)
for this, i didn't have enough time, so i just cut the letters out of cardboard, and that seemed to work fine.

anyways, i was also wondering if there is a way to make them a bit neater? i don't know if it's the actual printing that makes them so messy, or i don't expose them long enough.

thanks for looking!!
