I loved this thread forever ago and it took me this long to find a plush animal i liked.  And boy, did I score-- 24cent squid at Ikea (I wish there was one where I lived, that store rocks).  Ok, here it is (I kept the ribbon I was using on it previously as i thought it resembled ink)

and here she is, attached:

Thanks for looking, and for the inspiration.

sorry- this is me being nosy-- I have a rule that I can only get black cats because the one's I've had before were so wonderful (sadly this has kept me cat free for the past few years).  Black animals are notoriously hard to photo- the best way I found was to put them in Highly diffused light-  once I got a great photo when Tweekers jumped on the windowsill when there was no direct light but still a lot of light- the curtain diffused the light from the room and the photo turned out perfect.  Also 45 degree angles work better than flat-on (very hard to convince the cat however).
I hope that made sense.

:)awwwee you're a really good friend, and the pillow is really beautiful.  I love how it's subtle and still sparkly.  I'd be honored to get a pillow like that!

that is soooooo cool.  I want to get an all black cat so I can do that too.  It's so freakin neat I can hardly stand it.
Handsewed you say?  Double-wow.
I love your cat and your cat house
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Lamp Re-Vamped and mosaic -ed on: June 20, 2007 08:53:34 AM
the lamp was actually several shades or orange, cracked all the way up, and the electric didn't work-- mosiac was the only way to save it.

When you have an entire quilt to look over, it takes awhile to find everything.  I realize that when a baby is very small the quilt is just something pretty for them to look at but as they grow older, it becomes educational in a fun way!

you are a craftfairy.  that can be the only explanation, you are far too clever.    Cheesy

Very nice quilt!  I just had to comment to tell you I have a papaw too-- love him to pieces.  He doesn't quilt though- you should be quite proud of yourself and know your papaw would be happy your using his sewing machine.
