1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / First quilt! on: July 11, 2012 05:55:02 PM
I finally got some pictures of my first completed quilt!  I used this tutorial from crazy mom quilts (one of my favorite blogs!).  I only have two pictures and none of the backing unfortunately, but I'm very happy with how it turned out (except the binding...I tried to do it all on the machine because I'm lazy...it's less than perfect).

Now I'm hard at work on my second!  Smiley
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Another Stashbuster! on: July 09, 2012 06:12:39 PM
I used 5 hexagon motifs from Beyond the Square: 30, 35, 37, 48, and 50. Ive slightly modified some of these, to make them closer to the same size.  I think all 5 different hexagons are shown in the last picture.  The border is two rows of hdc.

I used entirely stash yarn (mostly Impeccable with some Patons) and only purchased 1 skein to finish the borders.

66 completed hexagons and 11 finished skeins!  It's about as big as my full size mattress!  Smiley Smiley

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Chalk Bags on: March 30, 2011 12:34:02 PM
I imagine these would go here as they were first knit and then felted...

My friend and I go bouldering about 4 times a week and neither of us wanted to shell out the money for a chalk bag.  I found a pattern online and then tweaked it and tweaked it until I was happy.

Here are the results:

They work great and we get loads of compliments on them at the gym!

Thanks for looking  Smiley
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / lil flower afghan on: January 11, 2011 06:28:02 PM
This is my take on the Lil Monkey Afghan in the Happy Hooker.  It's made for my step sister who is maybe halfway through her pregnancy, in the colors she is using to decorate the little girl's room.  The flower squares are an edited version of motif #114 in Beyond the Square.

Pics!  Smiley

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / some finished hoops.. on: December 19, 2010 06:20:41 PM
I made these two hoops as Christmas presents.  Both are Urban Threads patterns which I love!

Maneki Neko for my Grandfather and his wife on (or in..? neither really make sense) a 7" hoop wrapped in red and white ribbon.  Backstitch, satin stitch and french knots were all used.
The fabric is linen from the remnants bin at Joann's and sadly, this was the last of it  Sad.

Autumn Tree from my Grandmother in a 6" hoop wrapped in red and white ribbon.  This piece is all backstitch and the fabric was a fat quarter.

Thanks for looking!  Cheesy

10  COOKING / Dessert / Turkey Cupcakes!! on: November 24, 2010 04:13:13 PM
My mom and I just got finished making these for dessert tomorrow!

They are super adorable.

I used box mix to make the cupcakes because honestly, I have no idea how to make a cake from scratch!

They are fairly simple to make, but I posted some tips on my blog if y'all want any help!

Thanks for looking and have a happy thanksgiving!  Smiley Smiley
