52  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Ray guns I made for a children's book kickstarter! on: January 18, 2016 02:05:02 PM
Thanks, guys!
It's been a super fun project. Even if the kickstarter doesn't make its goal, I'm still glad I got to be part of it.
I'm having a hard time picking my favorite one out of these! Although I am partial to the one with the red light bulb at the end.

YKYACW you wish you had access to all the old calendars being pitched. ^_^ The back cover always has thumbnail sized images of each month's design, are aren't they the perfect size to cut out and cover with resin for pendants?
...*adds working with resin to the wish list.

So, some of you know I make rayguns, and go to the local geek conventions. One year I met an artist/writer, who bought one for his son, and we'd talk every year. This year he commissioned me to make one that the character in his new book would use against the villain, and he loved it. Then he asked for ones to offer as kickstarter rewards!
It's a cute book, Space Rover protecting the innocent from the evil Dark Shark.
Anyway, here's pics of what I made.
Group shot of the arsenal!

His main weapon, the Light ray blaster! I'd forgotten to take pictures, and had to grab a quick one when I gave it to him. Hee, he geeked out and said how amazing it was for him to see something he'd imagined become a physical object he could hold, and I told him it was amazing to me to see something I'd made take life as a drawing.

The individual ones from the arsenal.
