1971  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fairy tales, Folklore & Fairies gallery of gorgeousness! on: April 24, 2008 04:23:28 AM
Antiruth, what a lovely package from Pogo! I like the idea of having a little fairy door.
And I love sulkycat's fairy painting. She's so awesome!
So many great swap packages being posted; it's all been quite impressive.

1973  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: The Super Sea Swap! Sign ups 5th April- 15th, send out by 15th May on: April 23, 2008 05:57:12 PM
Thanks! Usually the swaps I do have absolutely nothing in common, so it's never come up before. Grin But I came up with a perfect beach-y item.I get more ideas at work where I can't start on any of them!
Hee, now I'm thinking about mixing up send outs-"whoops, did I send the steampunk stuff to the shakespeare swapper?"
Another reason I try to limit myself to one at a time(except for when my willpower runs out).

Your mask is very cool. But now you have me curious about dryer lint as a medium! You mentioned using it for jewelry. How do you do that? Do you mix it with diluted white glue and scupt it,or is their another way? Thank you!

I have an odd question I'd like you guys opinion on. I will probably also be doing a Jimmy Buffet swap,as well as this one. I got a great idea for a swap item that would work for both.Do you think it would be okay to make one for each swap? Always assuming I think it's something my partner would like,of course! They wouldn't be 100% alike-I don't think I've ever had two things come out exactly the same in my life-but they'd be essentially the same.I'd vary color and any little details I could. I'm thinking it'd be okay, but what do you all think?

I can't give you a textbook definition, but it's from greek/roman mythology. A female spirit that inspires one, tfor example the muse of music,poetry,ect-I know they had specific names. In more general terms I've heard writers talk about being inspired by the muse,or having writer's block and needing a muse.
Since my daughter liked the poetry muse i did for a swap,I had to promise I'd make her one. She loves the kid's book Miss Alanius, so she asked for the muse of miscellaneous things.Which is why she has a cape covered in doodads. Cheesy

Thank you! they're fun to make.
1978  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: "_____ in a box" gift ideas. on: April 22, 2008 08:46:10 AM
A book light is also a good idea. You can stay up late in your cozy bed without keeping anyone else awake,or read in the car at night-hopefully not while driving. Cheesy
Someone else here made bookcovers-one paperback size, one hardcover size.Read on the bus,in the waiting room-no one knows what you're reading. I like the tote idea.It wouldn't have to be very large, just enough for a couple of books.
1979  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: buried in silk flowers...help!! on: April 22, 2008 12:25:13 AM
Klutz makes a book on how to make flower fairies with them.I've seen them on top of an ink pen-I think the pen was wrapped in green floral tape to look like a stem.I know I've seen it on craftster.Oh,look up wish sticks! Found the link-www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=150422.0 She strung flowers and beads on wire to hang from a window, maybe 6-12 inches long? they looked really pretty! Buy a cheap bag of sticky pin backs, make some of the flatter ones into pins to wear?
