1971  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Givers and Needers 9 (Givers: April 11, Needers: May 9 on: March 20, 2011 03:12:18 PM
I sorted through craft stuff today! I need to get a box from work and pack it up now-I'm waiting to see when my car will be back from the shop before I say when I'll ship. Still, should be within a few days. And all I can say is thank god for work perks. I can send up to a 75 pound box anywhere in the U.S. for five dollars FedEx, as long as I don't abuse the privilege. No, OrangeKnickers, you aren't getting 75 pounds worth of goodies. Grin (but wouldn't that be great?)
And I have an idea for what to make for one thank you gift! Off to do more stalking....

Just got home from a long day at work. Looking forward to filling a box tomorrow! Then, to stalk and craft... Grin
1973  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Found or recycled items wind chime or Mobile on: March 19, 2011 03:09:14 PM
I made a wind chime style christmas ornament for a steampunk swap, and that's what I did. I wrapped each strand in tissue paper. Of course, it was something on the small side, but it made it there untangled.
This sounds like a fun swap!

I keep wishing I could be a good giver in the giver and needers swap, but my package would just be a big jumble of stuff.  From small segments of fabric (I don't think I have a piece that's bigger then 1 meter :*( ) I only have a couple untouched skeins of yarn,  unprocessed fleeces and small chunks of colored roving, a couple handfuls of beads......... I'll try for next time and see if anyone wants a jumbled "try out multiple crafts package....
I know I must be one of the people that gave them problems matching up. My sewing box to give is stuff like 'random small cross stitch kits, crochet thread, some floss, a couple of hoops, small bits of fabric for scrappy projects, a little fabric paint, a couple of craft books....' You get the idea. I had to add 'This is what I have to give if anyone wants a box filled by a magpie'. But I figured getting a box full of odd supplies is better than getting no supplies, and hopefully someone could make use of it.
Do try for next time. Heck, a 'try out multiple crafts' box sounds like fun!
Sigh....I haven't done any crafting besides making a nifty valentine card, and mending a couple of necklaces for my daughter. Hopefully after I've given stuff away and made room, I'll be inspired to make use of the rest.

And if someone is in need of something that hasn't been offered, maybe list it here? There will probably be a thundering horde of folks who just happen to have dozens of them.   Smiley

Well, I'll be giving some partial rolls and packages myself, but it's all clean and good condition. Sometimes you use a few sheets of paper, but never finish the pack, or maybe use a little of the yarn for a project and have a lot left you'll never use. It'll still be a box full of supplies for someone to play with.
1978  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Recycling/Eco-Friendly/Gardening/Hippie Swap Gallery on: March 15, 2011 11:13:26 AM
Very nifty stuff. Everything is so cool! I wish I'd had the time to join this swap, but I am so stalking for ideas and inspiration. (And hoping that there is a round 2  Grin )
The pot maker is adorable. By any chance do you have a link on making pot makers in general? Are the pots just made from paper? I'd much rather make my own than buy anything plastic. Thanks!

Oh, I've always wanted a doll house/fairy cottage, too-and I'll be 51 this year, so there! But yeah, it's the lack of space more than anything that's holding me back. One of these days....
So looking forward to this swap! Yeee!!!

Moonlitsun, the papers in my stash are on the thin side for the most part-stuff that I thought I would scrapbook with. Asian stuff is a little patterned paper, new squares of wrapping paper, and I think a calendar I kept just because I thought I'd frame the prints, maybe a bit more. And you like to paint? I can throw in a few paint brushes. I grab them whenever I can get them on sale, just so I can have a variety of sizes. I have not let lack of talent stop me from messing about with paint occasionally. Grin

Oh, and for the misc. sewing cross stitch ect. box, I just found a book of fabric samples-kind of like a wallpaper book? Around 20 or 30 squares of heavy fabric, some are the same design but in different colors. I'll keep a few squares I'm fond of, and pass on the rest. I'll pass on some of my embroidery floss, too.
