31  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / May flowers are finally here in manitoba! on: May 25, 2008 05:11:24 PM
I was commissioned for a brown anklet, and after I fould these awesome flowers at a thrift store, I could finally make something brown, of which I had no inspiration for before

And these flowers - I have become OBSESSED with making them, but I am running out if ideas on how to use them!!

(and yes, that is a silver disco ball bead in the middle of the pink flower, lol)

32  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New swirly rings and pokey necklace on: April 13, 2008 11:59:15 AM
New rings that I made:

Closer:

And another necklace like the hematite one I posted . . I LOVE it, it looks so cool! (so much more in person! doesn't photograph well)

Thanks for checking everything out!

33  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New necklaces-some modelled by green tree python on: April 10, 2008 06:37:01 AM
I'm always looking for whacky places to take pics . . . figured, why not the python cage? If I wasn't such a darn chicken, the pieces would be right in there, so it kinda sucks the glass is all spotty with condensation. Here they are:

Blue & copper - found little mosaic tiles at dollarama

Space-aged hematite-I think I should've left it tighter because then the head pins stood up all crazy-like better.

And, one of my favourites ever - featuring rose water opal swar. crystals, and a pink quartz donut.

Even the snake likes it!

And, had a few leftover crystals so went kinda nuts with matching rings

Thanks for looking!

Now, just to catch the 8 foot-long red tail boas for pics . . .

34  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Mosaic rings and a bangle on: April 03, 2008 04:36:18 PM
Found the idea for the rings in a magazine. I prefer the ones with the loops facing out . . . my first attempts:

And since I liked making the rings SO much, I tried a bangle:

And a view from the back with natural light - colours are more true here:

Thanks for looking!
35  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New stuff - mostly necklaces on: March 26, 2008 07:59:24 PM
Tried my hand at a bauble necklace:

friend wanted a bauble anklet . . I really like this one, and it's cool around the ankle:

Another barefoot sandal:

And a simple necklace:

Thanks for looking!
36  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / 3 new - barefoot sandal, ring, and necklace on: March 13, 2008 08:26:59 AM

little heart extra on the back:

Ring that just will NOT take a good pic! Made with faceted czech, supposed to be two layers to the ring, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out the instructions at that point. (my first woven/stiched piece)

Copper necklace featuring copper brooch that has a FUZZY inside!

Thanks for looking!

37  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / 7 new funky pieces on: March 04, 2008 11:52:40 PM
This is more stuff I will be sending to japan . . . hope you like it!

I found this necklace made of these rubbery-like flowers . . . It was really ugly, and I kept skipping over it at the thrift store . . eventually I gave in, and now, I do NOT want to give it up!!!!!

Made earrings to match (the last of the pretty flowers that I will never-ever see again  Embarrassed )

My first button project - hard to see, but on each big jump-ring there is another tiny one with a tiny pink seed bead on it . .  added a little something:

First memory wire bracelet:

Stone chip earrings to match the necklace in my last "sending to japan" post:

And cool lucite circles I found at another thrift store:

earrings to match:

Comments welcome!

38  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Chandelier pieces found at small thrift store!!!! YAY on: February 26, 2008 09:37:04 PM
Finally, I have been waiting and waiting for necklaces to rip apart from the store, and low-and-behold there is a mid sized jar of chandelier pieces waiting there, calling my name!!! I was lacking inspiration tonight, BUT, I just HAD to use up some, so here's what I made . . .

Ya, kinda simple . . . I'd LOVE to make some huge monstrosity of a necklace, but it would be too heavy . . .

And, these . . . I don't know, I guess they kinda show the true colours, which are a bit tinted . . .  I can't seem to match beads to that weird colour . . . any colour suggestions?Huh

39  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Jewelry I'm sending to Japan EDITTED to add earrings on: February 20, 2008 04:41:33 PM
My bro's gf is INSISTING I send over some things.

My fav bauble bracelet I don't want to give up!

Fake gold, real crystals:

Gemstone chips & flower & leaf pendant:

And something weird I wanted to try out . .. it is not crooked in real life! Think I should've taken a pic with it around my neck though  . . it's kinda weird like this:

Closeup of earrings:

Closeup of necklace:

More earrings made last night:

Comments appreciated . . . especially if you're japanese
40  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / First asymmetrical necklace - ONE MORE ADDED!!!! on: January 29, 2008 09:50:28 AM
This was SUPPOSED to be three stranded with a strand of cire wrapped beads, but they just would NOT sit right for the life of me . . . it's not quite what I had envisioned, but I still really like it. I got the flowers from some clip-on earrings at a thrift store a while back, and I think they are really cool. Sorry if pics are crappy . . had to take with my webcam

Thanks for looking! Comments welcome!

K, I made another one out of REALLY funky earrings I had bought a lonnnggg time ago and was just waiting until I found the right thing to do

Oh, and to answer questions better, I wore the first one for hours, eating, doing the dishes and playing with my son and it barely even moved!
