Sorry I've been so absent from here. Thank you all for your lovely comments Smiley They were all a blast to make but I think my favorite was the Space Toaster From Hell. Every time I would stop working and then come back to my desk and see his big eyeball toaster face staring back at me I would crack up  Cheesy Cheesy

Here's the final two dotees I received. I feel so very spoiled this round  Grin Grin Grin Grin

This awesome masked lovely from Bluepaisan. I love her tones and her hair is gorgeous!

and from TheMuppet

This fantastic top hat fairy  Grin My mother, who is OBSESSED with butterflies and the color purple tried three times to steal her while she was over yesterday lol

I adore her face. And she has the honor of being the very first thing I own that is needlefelted   Grin Grin

Thank you all so much. I really love doing these little doll swaps. They give me a chance to work on techniques on a small scale before working large. And I get such great new little friends in return   Wink

This STUNNING painted magnet. So so so gorgeous.

Next, this beautiful little jewelry box. I LOVE Ouija boards and she hand painted this beautiful box covering it in gypsy and Ouija board symbols

the inside of the lid. This thing is so lovely

and finally, the item that made me tear up to open

My very own gypsy caravan. This piece is so AMAZING. It's been hanging on my wall now since I opened it and I still stop and stare at it every time I pass it  Grin Grin Grin

Hey all, I can't believe how awesome this gallery is so far  Grin and it's about to get a whole lot more awesome.

Here is the GORGEOUS belly dancer from PirateColey! I LOVE her face and colors

and when I opened the mail to find thisbirdisabsurd's doll I swear I cried laughing  Cheesy

A GIRAFFE IN A TOP HAT! HA! This fancy fellow is simply amazing.

And, because I am strange, I giggled when I saw his ear broke in transit. You see folks, I have a growing collection of TREASURED broken giraffes. This began a while ago when my mother and I were at a thrift store and I found a gorgeous wooden giraffe that was missing a horn. My mother and I agreed, "Well that doesn't make him a bad person!" and so I gave him a good home. Now I have so many giraffes that are damaged in some way and they are loved for their flaws. It makes me smile to add to my collection (though I feel bad that her artwork broke on its way here. lol its a conflicting sort of happy Wink )

God I love giraffes.  Grin Grin Grin Grin

These beautiful painted stars! I asked for wall stuff and she sure delivered  Grin The burgundy one is my favorite!

This awesome dyrad wall hanging! So pretty. I love the tiny little roots.

And how awesome is this pillow? Somehow Ffrogg knew that I have an Amy Brown comforter on my bed and made me a pillow in MATCHING COLORS! The fairies must have told her!   Cheesy

Also I gotta mention, Ffrogg was thoughtful enough to make this pillow extra snuggly. Not only is it perfect for squeezing the hell out of, but its awesome for beating my DH in the head with  Cheesy

A scoodie from my wist!! This *almost* makes me sad that winter is over lol But I'm excited for next year for sure  Cheesy

6  Regretsy's April Winchell Queen of Snark Doll (Mature) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by MadGypsy on: April 09, 2010 09:03:12 AM
Ever hear of http://www.Regretsy.com? It's an amazing blog that singles out and ridicules the bizarre and sometimes just bad items from Etsy.com, a global handmade marketplace. It's just about the greatest thing ever made and it is run by the one and only April Winchell, aka Helen Killer.

That woman is my hero. She is so unrelentingly funny and confident that she has firmly earned a place in my heart. She recently posted a call for items for a charity auction and so I set to work. This doll is what I came up with.

She is literally COVERED in Regretsy references. If you're not a fan, PLEASE go educate yourself in the wonder that is Regretsy. If you are a snarky person who isn't easily offended, you'll fit in nicely.  Hopefully there's a few of you who know what I am talking about and will giggle when you notice the skants, the red mittens, the "embroidered" toilet paper, the earring necklace, and the all around "whimsicle" f*ckery of it all.  Grin Grin

I received an email from April herself saying that she adores the doll and wants to keep her for herself. I promise, I cried when I read that. I'm mailing this awesome bitch out on Tuesday. I can't wait for her to get her!!!!

I'm so proud of her. Let me know what you think!

Great packages so far!!!! Sorry I have been so absent. Things have been kinda crazy here lol. I got an AMAZING package from Mandys08 the other day. I needed to go buy new batteries for my camera and I was finally able to last night.  So here's my loot  Grin Grin

I am OBSESSED with "Double Trouble in the Panhandle" that's my all time favorite episode. So she lovingly painted this AMAZING Buck And Wanda tote for me  Grin

and yes, that is a "Natasha" eye patch. Smiley

and if that wasn't cool enough, she made me an awesome "Cocky" dread band!!

It's a *little* too big but I'm gonna put a little elastic in it and it will be perfect Smiley

I have saved the very best for last  Grin Grin Grin Grin

a Bones ponytail dread hat.  Shocked Shocked Shocked If I didn't own this thing, I would be wisting it so fast  Cheesy Cheesy

Thank you SO SO SO much!! You have totally spoiled me and my dreadlocks  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

That cupcake container is amazing!  What is it made of?!!?!

lol basically, this
floral foam half ball, a wooden tambour (the stuff used on roll-top writing desks and breadboxes), a wooden circle plaque, miniature purple lights, and a container of lightweight Spackle

plus I am sure I spent a bit of my sanity on placing each one of the "sugar sprinkles" (seed beads) one by one.  Cheesy

Smiley!!!!! Yay! I'm so so happy it got there safe!! So first off, no I didn't make that little cupcake puppy guy lol Actually funny story about him, the day after we got partners I went to the thrift store and the first thing  I saw was him in a bag of ornaments that were all ugly or broken but I just HAD to get the whole bag because he NEEDED to be your friend Smiley

And Lindy I think you got the best shot of it lit up because for some reason my camera disliked those lights. Do you mind if I use that one on my blog and when I post it? I have tons of pictures from the process of building it that I'll be putting up later. Here's a couple of the final photos I took of it.

Grin This was so much fun.
