1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Minnie Mouse Costume on: November 03, 2013 11:52:35 AM

This past weekend my local lolita community had a Halloween meet, so I decided to make a lolita Minnie Mouse dress as my costume! I altered a bodice and sleeve pattern for the top and I drafted/draped the skirt, collar, waistband and bows on my own.

I managed to crank this out in just a couple days and I'm really happy with how it turned out. This is by far the most comfortable lolita dress I own!

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Britney Spears Toxic Flight Attendant on: November 04, 2012 06:15:40 PM
That's really awesome looking! Any chance you have a group picture? I would love to see how they all turned out.

It looks awesome! I second the request for a group photo!

Thanks! Our third Britney couldn't get the costume together in time, so it was just me and my one friend as the naked glitter covered Britney. We snapped a couple quick pictures the night we went out together, so here's one of those! She was much more glittery in person but it was hard to catch on camera.

4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Britney Spears Toxic Flight Attendant on: November 04, 2012 05:08:29 PM
This year my friends and I decided to all be Britney Spears from the Toxic music video (since she has so many costume changes). I decided to do the flight attendant version!

The hat, dress, and bolero are all made by me. I even made the little pin on the hat! This costume was pretty fun to wear out on Halloween and people who recognized it were very excited Smiley

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Swan Wedding Dress ~ Inspired by Bjork! on: December 16, 2010 11:45:46 AM
So ever since I made my first Bjork swan dress http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=310476.0 I've been getting requests to make more!

This one is a special custom order for someone who wanted it to wear as a wedding dress! I really love how it came out so I thought I would share it Smiley

I altered it from my original version by making the dress longer, adding a satin bodice and making the swan neck out of faux fur. The dress is fully lined and the bodice has boning. It even has a bead for the eye!

I hope you like it!

Lovely! I wish I could pull off lolita style, I'll just have to drool over yours instead.  Cheesy  Super Kute (cute with a 'k' for kawaii)

Oh, and Question: Do you make your own pettis or did you purchase it somewhere?

Aww, thanks!

I took the picture a long time ago.. but I think I have like 3 petticoats underneath.. lol. Two of them are the cheap soft tulle petticoats and I think I also have a ruffle-y cotton underskirt I made under there too. I want to attempt to make my own organza petticoat soon though, so that I can just use one instead of 3!

omg! how did you make that?! O.o
how did you get it so poofy? and how did you make the patern?

I draped the bodice on my mannequin.. the skirt is just a big rectangle (about 90" I think). There are like 3 petticoats underneath (the cheap soft netting/tulle ones you can find at costume stores).
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Japanese Lolita Fashion Swap Gallery on: August 20, 2010 11:07:53 AM
I got my package from sprinklez earlier this week.. Here's a picture of all of it together:

I think my favorite thing out of everything is the felt strawberry. I'm totally going to make a huge headbow and put the strawberry on it!!
I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture but the necklace is made out of cute little bear beads! I really like the bear bracelet too~ I think it will go great with a fairy kei coordinate!
I wore the earrings out the other night.. they match one of my handmade dresses really well Smiley

Thank you so much <3

I received my package from lauralyn and I'll be posting pictures in here as soon as I can get some taken, my camera's not working so well so I'll probably have to borrow my mom's or a friend's XD

I took some pics before I sent~ so here you go! I would really love to see it modeled though!! Cheesy

Here is the skirt with detachable bow. The fabric is a little darker pink in real life.

Here is the matching headband with two smalls bows sewn onto it.

Mine hasn't arrived yet, but as soon as it does I'll post pics. I can't wait! Seeing all the beautiful things everyone has received already is making me too excited Smiley

I think I know what you are asking.. the bust part is lining is a fitted bodice and then I gathered chiffon over it. There is elastic inserted into channels in the back of the dress, but in retrospect it would have been better to make the empire waist elasticized all the way around. Does that answer your question?

I know you've probably heard this already, but I would love to make something like this. Does the top layer fit the bust like an empire-waisted dress? Or does it just bubble down? I know how to make a tiered skirt and I know how to gather/ruffle like there's no tomorrow (I once did a petticoat with the bottommost layer consisting of 12 yards of fabric--all the gathering was done by hand.) I'm just trying to get a better understanding of the top part because I'm a little fuller in the chest and if I need to insert elastic I need to know how xD Cause I don't see it anywhere on that.

Sorry if my questions don't make any sense :I
