1  Re: 2007 Color Craft-A-Long in Craftalongs by bagheera on: May 03, 2007 04:55:26 AM
Sadly, I couldn't find that piece of fluorite... Sad I know I have it somewhere... *ahem* Probably under some pile of random crafting stuff.

(advance apologies for the below cross-posting, and for image overdose...)

Soooo...
I took the opportunity to finish a PURPLE MONSTER BACKPACK! Yes, that's right folks! A monster bag with a twist! I made it for a coworker's little girl who is just two or three years old and loves Dora the Explorer. As soon as she got it, she apparently started hugging it and crooning, "Backpack, Backpack."  (Backpack is the name of Dora's... what else... backpack. Tongue )

Front

Inside, a silky white lining. Please ignore the bad sewing, thanks. Tongue

The back, with straps of white nylon.

Obligatory action shot (I know the straps are way too small for me, haha.)
I'll see if I can get a picture of her with it. Smiley I feel great, I love giving handmade things to people, especially since it's a pretty young, cash-strapped family. <3 Thank you, Craftster.

2  Re: Post your photography in here :D in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by bagheera on: April 10, 2007 07:19:34 AM
OK, a few of mine. Smiley These were all taken with my Fuji FinePix S5100, no filters, lenses or digital editing (except where noted).

Whoa, I didn't mean to include so many! Shocked Once I started, I couldn't stop! Tongue Grin

Everyone's work is so gorgeous! Very creative! Cheesy (Margrethe, I especially like the first one... is it a leaf?)

3  Ceiling Disaster? in Stitch And BOTCH by bagheera on: April 05, 2007 10:47:10 AM
HELP! Shocked

I printed one of those "rasterbations" (basically an image made of dots), and my mother advised me to use this double-sided tape. Well, I got bored of it and tried to take it down...

Detail of ceiling...

How (aside from painting) can I fix these brown spots that are currently nicely lined up in a rectangle shape above my head? Thanks!!!

(I figured this would go in either the Misc. discussion or Stitch'n'Botch... since it's more Botch and less Craft, I put it here. Tongue )

4  My Monster Bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by bagheera on: March 09, 2007 09:30:41 AM
Well, I actually finished this the day before Valentine's Day, but I hadn't gotten around to uploading pictures... So, here we are!

My monster bag! I named her Fidget, and I love her to bits! She took me foreeeeever to make, because I'm such a noob at sewing! Tongue

I hand-sewed most of it, since I broke four machine needles doing the faux fur (and still haven't found one and a half needles, eek! Shocked ). The eyes, inner teeth and tongue are glued on, the outside fangs are sewn on. Smiley

Here's the tutorial.

Fidget's outside.

Her mouth.

Her belly.

Comments? Cheesy Thanks!

Edit to add the link to the tutorial I used... With a few modifications of my own. Smiley

5  Re: February Card-a-day club GALLERY in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by bagheera on: February 05, 2007 06:20:46 AM
Well, I made a card for Sunday yesterday, but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to post it... Undecided Turned out a bit wonky. I put in the rivet-things upside-down. Sad

Edit: Okay, I'll bite.

Not for trade. Smiley

Started out as a simple maze, but it ended up drawing itself. Tongue Then, one of my bottom paths looked like an "L", so it kind of wrote itself, too. Tongue This one was weird, because I didn't really set out to draw anything in particular, and it just did itself! Then, I messed up the top part, so I had the idea to make it look like it was part of a little booklet -- a Book of Love! Cheesy (When I make more love-themed ATC's, I might do just that.) But I put the rivets in upside-down, as you can see. Tongue
P.S. I had a rough day Sunday, can you tell? Tongue

Awww! Those are so cute!!! I love them!!! Grin

Here are five I made yesterday. Cheesy
These are my second through sixth cards ever made.
(Again, sorry for bad photography. One of these days I'll set up my little "studio" and actually take good pics. Tongue )
All:

My favourite:

It's layered, the girl being a packing-tape transfer. Beneath her, I shaped and mod-podged on a heart out of wire. Cheesy

7  Re: "My First" ATC gallery for all the fabulous newbie ATC Artists in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by bagheera on: February 01, 2007 11:13:56 AM
(Sorry for cross-posting, this is also in the Feb. gallery.)
Wow! All the other cards look so much better than my first! Embarrassed

(Not for trade.)

(Sorry for bad photo! I'll take a better one sometime.) On this photo, the bottom border is a bit crooked, I know. Rest assured it's since been fixed! Cheesy Also, that bit of yellow in the top left corner isn't actually there, that's a light reflection. Wink

Alrighty... this card is my first ever, so please don't be too harsh! Embarrassed
Finished ten minutes into the new month! Cheesy
(I was so proud of myself for finishing it in time to put it in the January ATC gallery... then I looked at the clock... drat! Tongue )

Here's one I did in Photoshop 5.5, back before I got CS. I've been using Photoshop for nearly a year and a half now. Smiley

Edit because Imageshack has changed their codes and layout. Blech. Got it fixed now.

Here's one of my 2-year-old Nimue on the faux fur. She had fun. Tongue
