3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Various Techniques for Making T-Shirts/Clothes Look & Feel Vintage on: December 26, 2005 01:12:07 PM
Does anyone know of any ways to give jeans the "destroyed" look without actually making holes in the jeans.  At my school, we are not aloud to have jeans with holes in them, so I wanted to still have the look and still be able to follow dress codes.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks  Smiley

Wasn't that called Andre? I'm pretty sure it was Andre.

Ya the picks work. Awesome shirt, i made one that looks just like it except it says, got tots? on it.
It needs a pic of some tots though

Thanks. That sounds like an awesome shirt too. I wonder where you could find pictures of tots..Good idea. I'm thinking of making another shirt but I don't know what to put on it.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Vote for Pedro on: January 18, 2005 06:21:10 PM

Ok guys. I'm sorry if this doesn't work. It's the first time I've ever tried posting pics.

Well. Napolean Dynamite is the funniest movie I have ever seen. That's just my opinion. Well I was told they have T-Shirts at Hot Topic for like $20 that say "Vote for Pedro". Well. I figured, a pack of 3 shirts costs six bucks at my local Dollar General. and that's way better than twenty. So I found my mom's tracing letters and traced away. I just used some kind of paint that was lying around the house. and I think it came out pretty good. I got a lot of positive feedback from people at my school. Again. I hope it works! Undecided

Thanks. Atleast I know I'm not the only one who's seen those bracelets. Thanks for the link to the help thing. Much appreciated. The ribbon was 3mm. Where did you get the pink pearls?

I'm sorry, I do have a camera but I don't know how to upload pictures on here. I'm sorry but my bracelet was a completed project. Sorry for trying to give someone an idea. and to the other person yes I did like the way it came out. I'll try to figure out how to post pictures so you can see what it looks like.

Ok. I know we've all seen those cute little pearl bracelets with the ribbon. Ok. maybe it was just me. Anywho. I decided it would be cheaper to make my own. I got a pack of like 200 white pearl beads at Hobbie Lobby for like 5 bucks. The ribbon was like. 60 cents a yard. Or you could buy it on a roll. I don't remember how much it was. Anyways. remember to buy thin ribbon or it will be harder to strand the beads. If you do use ribbon that's wider, use tape to narrow down the ends. For the narrow ribbon, it's easier to use a sewing needle, the larger kind with the large "eye" I guess you call them. Strand the ribbon through the eye and then strand on the beads. It will be easier to strand since the beads have small holes if you use plyers to hold the need while you pull the beads...Once you get as many beads on as you want, tie a small knot at each end of the beads so the beads won't move around and fall off when you're not wearing it. Then, you're done. I'm really sorry if these instructions are confusing. Just say so and I'll do my best to re-explain.
