1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Black Polo/Bubble Skirt - Girl needs some advice. on: January 06, 2007 12:59:32 AM

So here's the skinny: This shirt fit me perfectly when I was 4 inches shorter and 40 pounds heavier. I performed a simple reconstruction, and now it fits me perfectly. BUT obviously, it's a little short.

My father tells me that it looks good and that I can "get away with it", and my boyfriend actually likes it; but I can't tell if it's super sleazy or not, and I'm afraid of muffin tops.

I bought a cheap bubble skirt at the dread old navy, which fit me in the change room, and fits me right after I've washed it - but after about five minutes of wear it always gets really floppy. I thought it might look good if I sewed it onto the bottom of the shirt but I'm not sure if this is flattering on me either.

(In this photo I've hiked up the skirt to where it would be sitting if I sewed the bottom of the waistband onto the bottom of the shirt. I haven't sewn it on yet, though - it's just overlapped at the moment.)

You cannot trust boys for this sort of thing. I need some honest opinions from you crafty girls. Here are all the photos of it. Is the original sweet or slutty? Do the ruffles on the bottom look dowdy or delightful

What should I do?
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I want to be a *real* craftster! (blue top and deer head) Photo-Heavy UPDATE p.2 on: December 30, 2006 10:29:06 PM
Not terribly spectacular or anything... My stitching is quite shoddy, but I like the look of lousy stitches. Am I crazy, or does anyone else here share the same opinion?

For some reason -no matter what setting I use- my camera doesn't know what colour my shirt is. The last two are the most accurate, colour wise (and if the photos aren't working, or you want to see an enormous version, or something, check out my flickr page).
