21  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Last-Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts on: October 05, 2007 07:39:21 PM
I bought it before I saw it when I read the post about it on The Purl Bee (http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2007/9/8/arriving-at-purl-any-minute-now-last-minute-patchwork-quilte.html)

The pictures are beautiful, and the projects are great.  I made the Puzzle Ball as a baby gift, and it was quite well received.  I want to make the rainbow spectrum quilt, but I think I'm going to stick to some smaller projects for now.

It's well worth the money!!  Or to put on your Holiday Wish List!!

I like to use a ballpoint pen to trace patterns or pictures using carbon paper, especially if it is something I can write on and not care about.  That way, I can see the ink lines of what I've already gone over.  I've also used colored pencils, regular pencils, mechanical pencils with no lead, and a chopstick.  Just about anything mildly pointy but not too pointy works!
23  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Kitschy Kitchen Apron Swap (Sign Ups 9/21/7 10/7/7; Send by 11/11/07) on: September 22, 2007 04:44:18 PM
Yay!  I've been wanting to do an apron swap!!  Can't wait to start!
24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Pin Up Totes (pic heavy) on: September 15, 2007 06:09:54 AM
I Love the librarian bag!  I'm working on becoming a librarian, and I think that would be such an awesome bag to carry my books in.  I think I may have to copy this!!
25  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Taylor's Graduation/Off to University Keepsake Quilt on: June 23, 2007 05:23:10 AM
Wow, that's really awesome!  I've been thinking about making my mom a quilt with family photos.  I like the color choices too.  That would be a great quilt to have in college.

Aww, those are so cute!  I have a baby friend who could certainly use the "Rocket Butt" onesie... I may have to make one!
27  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / My Pear Pin Cushion on: June 05, 2007 07:52:36 PM
So, I was completely inspired by Heather Bailey's Pear Pin Cushion http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/heather_bailey/2006/08/out_the_door.html

I tried and tried to come up with the right pattern -- my first one resembled an onion bulb, my second attempt was more of a fat banana... finally, this:

And another view:

So, what do you think? Pretty close?  I'm going to try making a few more and see if I can make it a little better.  It was completely made from scraps out of my scrapbag.

That's fabulous!  I've been wanting to make that throw.  Yours turned out great - I love the blues.

That's a beautiful quilt -- I like the unusual/unique choice of fabrics.  I think it turned out wonderful.  I love light weight quilts that I can use year round; it makes them all the better.

That is really amazing.  And I love the story behind it!  Who knew that you could go from tattoos to embroidery?  Thanks for sharing this!!
