unfortunately, i can't think of anything to do to the last one.  it is quite cute though  Wink
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: sizing? my top is 5 times too big on: July 26, 2008 05:52:56 PM
Thank you both  Grin

@ Aislynn:
it specified on the pattern that it should have come out to 32.5 w/ease, though it was definitely bigger ><
thanks for the chart though, it could be useful in the future
btw i love your name  Wink

@ homebunnyj:
5/8" seam allowance
hehe
i think that might be it ><
i looked, but didn't see anything specified on the pattern, so i assumed it wasn't included, and added it.
but then again, i think i'm missing part of the pattern, so it's probably on that.
yeah i photocopied the pattern and drafted it on newspaper first to check, then on acrap fabric =)
and that's really weird, about the fit of patterns changing over time

ohnono, I'm happy you replied Wink
and rly? you had to go down by that much?
I probably should have searched the forums for pattern sizing instead of just the pattern I'm using, haha.
Thanks! Grin
I'm gong to try making it a 12 now.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / sizing? my top is 5 times too big on: July 22, 2008 11:48:49 PM
ohkay,
so i have simplicity 4269 (see http://www.northbreeze.com/Patterns/DiscontinuedSimplicityPatterns/SimplicityPattern4269-GownIncludesPlusSizes.htm)
and i drafted the pieces for the top, and put them together, and they fit pretty fine
except that the two back panels overlap each other completely ><.  so i think i'm misinterpreting the way it's supposed to fit.

this is my first time working from a store-bought pattern, so i think i might be reading the sizing wrong, or something?
according to the way i interpret the size chart here:http://www.simplicity.com/designFrame.cfm?dvPage=/assets/4269/4269.pdf&design=4269
i should fit a 16.  my measurements are about 38-30-38, give or take 1/2 an inch on certain days.
has anyone else made this pattern and had a similar problem?
