1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / something sweet for the boyfriend? on: July 01, 2007 04:51:39 PM
the four-year anniversary is coming up and i want to make something for my boyfriend. typically, we make something for each other, it's much more personal and whatnot.
i am a few months early, but the past few years i've put it off until there was no time left, so i don't want to let that happen again!

the only problem is, i have no idea what to make! i know there's tons of cools things he'd love (he likes punky things, think My Chem..) but i don't feel i have the talent to pull those things off... or if i did, i'd have trouble finding fabric (i'm kinda cheap, i don't like to buy anything other than the dollar-a-yard fabric!!)

i would love to incoporate some lyrics that are all mushy and lovey. so naturally, i think t-shirt, and i can just stencil it. but i'd to make (and i think he'd like it too), something he can wear (or use) a lot, like.. a bracelet, or a bag?

any ideas? i'd love to see pictures or something.. anything to get the creative juices flowing!

thanks!

found this M&M pillowcase at a garage sale for a whopping 25 cents
and i was inspired by littlebluegirl's top made from a pillowcase..

bad picture, but hey, its late and im tired lol:

and the fabric:

it's hard to see in the picture but one shoulder ties and both the sides have slits up about 3 inches or so..
it was pretty haphazard, but i think it turned out alright. will be nice to wear over a swimsuit, i think.
what do you think?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My first two recons... on: October 06, 2006 05:23:39 PM
So this isnt much but I've been so inspired by everything I've seen on here that I just had to try some things..

so digging through my closet i found some old pj pants that i'd never worn and made this:

so not much but i rather like it. when i get a chance i'm gonna add a snap or something so it'll stay closed.

and then i found this XXL t-shirt i got free for helping out at my cousin's dance recital. i like their logo tho, and red's my fav color so i cut off the top of it and sewed it in so it fits me, heres the result:

i want to add something strap-wise but im not sure. what i'd REALLY like would be those little triangular capsleeve things but i'd probably screw that up a lot, so..
any suggestions?
