1  Re: boring bed transformation ideas? (5 images) in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by LoveByDesign on: February 06, 2008 02:31:36 PM
it would be really cool if you put some crown molding on the top of the sides and maybe even did some accent molding in a big square around the foot. Like these only on the bed boards!

does that make sence? Hope it helps!!!
Good luck, your bed it a great blank canvas to work with!

2  Re: Help making these shower curtains in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by LoveByDesign on: February 03, 2008 11:19:06 AM
The long shower curtian could be made with two peices of fabric cut to the length plus like 5 inches. You can just hem 3 sides and the top you just hem it with enough space to fit the rod through.

The Top Curtian looks like it has a tention rod in it. You would roughly do it the same way just in a different shape.

I don't know if that helps but that's how I would do it. You can add trim and everything. you can buy it by the yard at the fabric store and you may be able to just hot glue it around the bottom.
Good luck post pictures when your done.

5  Dirty Freecycle table into modern shabby chic!! ::edited w/pics:: in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by LoveByDesign on: April 08, 2007 08:27:19 PM
I got a table from freecycle as a side table for my bedroom. It was dirty and rough when i got it so i took a power sander to it.
Official Before picture (I was cleaning it when i took this):

I sanded it and covered the top, drawer, and bottom shelf in faux stainless steel contact paper that i got for 5.99 a role at Home Depot!! weee!

i'm thinking that its not done. 1st im gunna put a cool pull on the drawer..and i think that im going put these 1"by 1" mirror tiles on it...in these places:(sorry this pic is so small..do u think the mirror tiles would look good here? i like the whitewash white paint look but i want to embellish some..i love the mirror furniture...feedbac k would be much appriciated!! i'd love a craftster viewpoint!! lol)
Thanks, AMY!!!

6  Re: boring break + old computer chair=new sewing chair in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by LoveByDesign on: March 31, 2007 06:01:56 AM
Yea i took a flathead screwdriver and poped the plastic off to rip the old fabric off and restapeld the new stuff on the wood inside.
here's some pics:

this is the bottom piece. when you poped it out the fabirc is stapled to a board.
once i restaped the fabric i wanted i wedged it back under the plastic. i'll warn you that to take it in or out is really tricky without cracking the plastic. i cracked mine but hot glued it and once it's painted over its not so bad.
here's the pieces from the front:

8  Re: Ideas for 250 coloured paperclips in What the heck can I do with THIS? by LoveByDesign on: March 14, 2007 08:12:34 PM
it be kinda cool if you could hook them around a wire circle in varying lengths  to make like a chandelier/shade thing around a light. even if you used a lamp and took the paper off the shade to hang them all from the top at different lengths to make a standing chandelier.

like this lamp only take the white fabric off the shade and hang paper clip chains from the top wire.
that would be something that no one has done yet. i think....Smiley good luck no matter what you do i love playing with those!!!

10  Re: classy pleated iridescent clutch TUTORIAL ADDED!!!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by LoveByDesign on: December 29, 2006 08:55:08 PM
i've been wanting to make this clutch for a while! and since i was so inspired today i did. but i dont keep a lot of fabric around i tend to just get what i need when i need it. I used some old pants.
The outside is some boys khaki pants

The inside is some teal scrubs i had

I wanted it extra extra sturdy so there is really thin cardboard sewn into the lining.
I also wanted it to be extra extra big! Here's a picture for scale
