1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Extremely Open Minded Sweet Sixteen on: April 13, 2008 01:25:59 PM

I'm not getting a sense of who you are.  You say not too girlie, but you're also talking about tiaras and dresses.  You also mentioned you love parks and wouldn't mind a sort of hippie party.  Depending on how many people you have coming (would this be friends, friends & family, or everyone you've ever met?) you could Go Green and have a recycling party or an Adopt a Highway event where you and your friends clean up litter from a mile of road.

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Rock Star themed craft ideas needed... on: April 13, 2008 01:19:33 PM

This may be lost on seven-year-olds, but you could set up a photo shoot, print out the photos on heavy paper and let them design their own "cover art."

I love the party theme!  Are you serving "microphone" cupcakes (cupcakes in waffle cones)?
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Ideas needed for my Ugly Sweater Party! Oooooh yea on: March 12, 2008 09:29:22 PM

Another prize idea: Knit-lites, illuminated knitting needles.  Maybe you could recreate the Sweater Song video and unravel a particularly ugly one and create a big ball of yarn to go with the needles.

Jai has created a Facebook community for this project and it's starting to pick up steam.  But he still needs names---and if you want to honor someone anonymously, he can add ribbons for aliases or nicknames!  We're trying to go global with this.  Please help us make a statement and remember a person living with HIV/AIDS.

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: "dirty thirty" themed birthday? on: January 13, 2008 10:30:09 AM

Serve "dirty" drinks like Dirty Martinis, Mudslides, and Sand in Your Shorts.
      Play Christina Aguilera's "Drrrty" cd.
Paint tiny terra cotta pots with the theme and the date and fill them with potting soil.  Give them out as party favors with packets of wildflower seeds.

You may find yourself under mistletoe with someone other than Aunt Gladys.  Have a mint.

Your stocking will contain only Elf-Help books.

Myrrh?  You're giving me myrrh?  Thanks.  No, really.  I live in a barn, y'know.

What are you doing New Year's Eve?  'Cuz I really need a designated driver.

Teacher says every time a bell rings, God kills a kitten.

Chipmunks roasting on an open fire

Enjoying the cookie?  Diet starts January 1.  (800) 597-JENNY

You have the strength of ten Grinches, plus two

No kid wants to play with a Charlie-in-the-Box!

      That wasn't egg nog.

...and can you post the recipe for gingerbread fortune cookies?  Sounds delicious!!!
