1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Old car keys?? on: August 19, 2010 05:32:00 PM
A friend of mine owns a junk yard. They throw out tons and tons of keys all the time b/c they have "junked" the car. I am trying to think of a crafty way to recycle these keys to save them from the landfill! Any ideas?
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Wanted artist to make clay frogs in trade for items from my bead & SB collection on: April 14, 2010 02:21:46 PM
First Mods, please move if I have posted in error. I have not been on the board in quite a while and it looks to be there have been a lot of changes!

Second, I am in search of a polymer clay artist to make me a few "frog figurines". I can give you a few links for inspiration so you can see what I am hoping to achieve. It's going to be a birthday gift for my boyfriend. I can offer items from my beading collection and scrap booking collection as a TRADE! I have nerve damage and I can't bead like I used to. So, if you are multi-crafted maybe this would interest you? Again sorry if I have posted in the wrong section!

I have pictures of everything in my collection. I also have pix of the frogs I would like sculpted or something very similar. Below gives you an idea of what I am in search of. I like the first 2 green frogs. Thank you Smiley

Sorry had no clue where to post this. Please move if it's in the wrong place. My DH came up with this wonderful idea to turn my broken wooden futon into a shoe rack! I still think it needs something... but here it is!!

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My version of a "monster" purse/bag w/e on: November 22, 2006 05:59:12 AM
OK I loved the idea of a monster on a purse. Well I made this for Halloween and I am just now posting pics. Sorry the pics are poor quality webcams stink. Anyway all I had was blue fur but I had this cool stuff to match the handles so all is not a loss. Please tell me what you think thanks! Smiley

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Mom's Christmas gift....a denim purse made from old jeans. on: November 22, 2006 05:55:54 AM
First, I am sorry about the poor quality pics. I have a webcam and it takes horrible pics. Second, if I posted in the wrong place, I am sorry mods please move it. Thanks!
Anyway mom says these purses are sooo cute. It's an old pair of jeans made into a purse (yeah I know you have seen it before, how original right?) She lives out of state so I made this for her and am going to ship it. Please tell me your thoughts. I am stuck. I like how it's coming together but I think the back of the purse needs to be changed. Any advice would be sooo appreciated. Thanks Smiley
Here we go:
Front of purse (she likes flowers and gardening so I put a rose patch, there are strips of sequins along the pockets, and a cool fishnet style maroon ribbon sewn the one pocket, little flowers above the watch pocket)

Inside detail with lining (you could see my stitching so I put this pretty black braided 'ribbon' with silver beads running through it. I know it's hard to see but I think it looks nice)

Back (this is where i am stuck I think I need to take the bow off and add something to the pockets...but WHAT???)
http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o98/seamonkeychik/Picture185.jpg
Handle (braided left over jean material)

Please tell me your thoughts I want this to be perfect.
6  COOKING / Dessert / No ginger, what about this Pumpkin pie deal? on: November 21, 2006 08:45:19 AM
I need a bit of help. I did a search but nothing looked relevant to what I need to know. I am making a home made from scratch pumpkin pie. The recipe I have is calling for ginger. I have cloves, nutmeg, and this thing called "pumpkin pie spice". Do you think I can sub out this ginger for the pumpkin pie spice and still be ok? This is my first time ever making a pumpkin pie with anything other than the canned premix stuff. Help me please I want this Thanksgiving to be PERFECT Grin Thanks
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / RE-sizing a corset??? on: November 03, 2006 05:58:57 AM
Ok here is the deal. and I hope I am posting this is the right place. This is my first post that I am starting instead of replying to. I have seen stuff about corsets but this is not only a corset but vinyl >.< So here goes:

DH bought me this adorable vinyl corset. I absolutely adore it...but...he bought a size XL. It fits perfect everywhere but yup you guessed it, my girls. I have no clue how to go about making my tiny in between size B and C cup ladies fit into a corset that has a bust size of a friggin DD. That is the only place that is too big. I am so scared to cut it up and destroy it. I have a lot of vinyl but I've never got around to making anything with it. It's still on the rolls. And this is clothing style vinyl, or sometimes dubbed "PVC". Like the fetish wear stuff. Not the stiff stuff for placemats, tablecloths, upholstery, etc. It's thin.

I am still fairly new to sewing. I took a sewing class when I was in HS, then when my machine broke I lost interest. Now several years later I am trying it all over again. So I know NOTHING about how to alter this garment. And I am too cheap to pay someone to do it, when I know I can probably do it myself! Smiley

Can someone help me?? Point me in the right direction?? Please *begs*
