3  New York / New York: West / me - az + rochester = ... on: September 17, 2004 11:18:52 PM
A JUSTIFICATION TO KNIT NON-STOP!!!

My husband and I are relocating to Rochester in two weeks, and we'll be starting our own design collective.  I am so nervous and excited and anxious, and someone please tell me there is some kind of functional knitting group there?  I looked everywhere(on the information superhighway) but couldn't find much.

Please help me or i'll be the loneliest knitter in Rochester  Cry (and the blood will be on YOUR hands)
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / jewel box shawl for me mum's b-day! on: August 25, 2004 01:47:01 PM
Here is the shawl that I made for my mother's birthday.
It's made with Caron's jewelbox (ruby).  All I did was cast on 1 stitch and then increase one every row until it was about 5 feet from the tip of the triangle to the top of the shawl.  Then I cast off all the stitches and picked up half of them, so it would be a little more see through on the top, and finished knitting til I was done with about, the fourth skein.

Here's the fingerless mitts, from Melanie Falick's Weekend Knitting that I made with the leftovers.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my first sweater on: July 16, 2004 10:27:14 AM
Look ma! No pattern!

This is the first sweater I ever made, and the first one without a pattern.  The picture's a little poopy.  (Sorry, it's a camera phone.)

It is  100 degrees outside here in AZ and i can't even bear to put it on for the photo (it's brown sheep company 100%wool), so why do I need a sweater you may be asking?  Well, i'm moving to Rochester, NY in 3 months, and I figure these unemployed summer months are the perfect time to get some winter wardrobe knitting done.

edit: moved pic to its own line so that the post is skinnier - melidomi
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / UGLY PLANT-NICE ORIGAMI TREE! on: July 09, 2004 11:24:33 AM
I happen to think that cacti are one of the ugliest plants around.  I also happen tp live in Arizona so I was bound to get one sooner or later.

Fortunately, this ones long spines made it a good tree for my origami flowers that i was too lazy to make stems for.
