on the back there's a buttonhole

i've made them before with zippers, might try and do that again but meh it's kinda wasteful to toss out the rest of the zipper i feel

It was the boy's niece's bday recently. and since i've taken it upon myself to adopt his family and intrude on all their family activities, and because she's the cutest human baby thing i've ever seen, i thought it was fitting to make her a dress.

i had this really cute fabric that i'd bought last summer that i've been trying to find something to do with

i made it a bit big so no pics yet of her wearing it. it was some mccalls pattern. or simplicity...i think mccalls...
anyway uber easy. and i actually took the time to do blind hems since it was a gift

i got lazy with the buttons and tried to use my machine. which would've worked if i hadn't stepped on the foot pedal and snapped the button. sigh

button close up (i like them; i think they match nicely. though it was a hard choice between these and hot pink ones):

I made him 3 snakey shirts (and cupcakes but i ate those so...yeah...)

the day before i gave them to him he showed up wearing a new snakey shirt he had just made...i was unimpressed

here's one of them. i like this shot too it's very 70s rock in my mind

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / tank top - yeah thats right i'm pretending its summer on: March 29, 2008 04:17:43 PM
sooo it's end of maaarch and there's quite a lot of snow on the ground. like a lot. like i tried to put out the compost today and the bin is buried under 3 feet of snow. but spring is coming! i know because the car on my boyfriend's street that actually was so covered in snow that all you could see was one side mirror? well i can see part of the hood now! it's rusty.

but yes anyhoo i decided I really wanted tank tops anyhow. and i found an awesome simplicity pattern. I am too lazy to turn around and get the number for you however so yeah...

I originally made this pattern in a really nice ribbed pink fabric. twas beautiful and i was in love with it. but for some reason when i washed and dried it it grew like 3 sizes and now doesn't fit me. it was a depressing discovery.  The next one i made (the one photo's here) is nice but the material is a tad clingy so...need to fix my leggings (why WHY do pattern companies size things so so weirdly. their idea of the standard woman is just creepy. why WHY would I have a 20" waist and 10" ankles!?!? HONESTLY!)

my cat's ass as he licks the soap (I have no idea)

my standard "i don't know what to do with my arms....oh god i'm awkward" pose. seriously what do you do with your arms?!?!

close up of ruching on the collar. I was pretty proud with how that turned out
