21  Dumbledore Amigurumi in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by ambermoony on: September 02, 2010 12:44:26 AM
I was recently in a Harry Potter swap (round 8, in fact) and I made an amigurumi of my partner's favorite character: Dumbledore!

It was my first time making up my own pattern, and my first non-animal amigurumi!  I'm trying to write a real pattern for it, and it's being tested now.  I will update this thread when the pattern is done, thank you for your patience (and many thanks to my lovely pattern testers!)

22  Re: AVATAR: the last airbender swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by ambermoony on: September 02, 2010 12:39:15 AM
Since my partner seems to have disappeared, I thought I might post pictures of what I sent.

Eco Queen had said some of her favorite characters were Toph, Suki, and Iroh, so I tried to base my crafts around that.

Toph's headband, anklets, and wrist warmers:

and a charm bracelet and lotus tile pendant:

I put in charms for Suki's hat and fans, and a lotus tile, teacup, and tea kettle for Iroh

23  Legend of Zelda digital art in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by ambermoony on: August 28, 2010 11:38:38 PM
I was recently in a Zelda swap, and I made the following pieces for my partner's wall:

I also made some Lon-Lon Milk bottle labels (sized for a baby bottle) but with extra backs so they can be put on larger bottles.  I couldn't decide if I wanted to have the in-game style label or more stylized versions... or in vEnglish or Hylian... so I just did them all! XD

I wanted to share the labels, so I made all of them into PDF files which I then put in a ZIP file available here:

25  Re: September Monthly Odd Holidays Gallery - send out August 23 in The Swap Gallery by ambermoony on: August 28, 2010 09:26:40 PM
I got my spoilerific package from Najaorama a couple of days ago and finally got a chance to post pictures!

first, she sent an adorable moon phase bib for my son for the Full Moon:

I tried to get action shots, but let's just say it was put to good use before I could get the camera ready!

then a handful of fabric fortune cookies for Fortune Cookie Day:

such cute fabrics, and the fortunes she put inside are great!

And a great skull and crossbones fabric for Talk Like a Pirate Day:

I have so many ideas that I could use this for, now I just have to decide!

And finally, my favorite, she made a great embroidery for Tolkien Week:

It says 'Not idly do the leaves of Lorian fall" and has a super-awesome vintage leaf pin!

and of course, the whole kit'n'kaboodle, with a great card from the Institute of American Indian Art:

Thank you so much, Naja, and thanks again to our wonderful organizers~

26  Re: Harry Potter swap round 8 gallery in The Swap Gallery by ambermoony on: August 13, 2010 01:02:52 PM
The Owl Post left this most wonderful package on my doorstep this afternoon!

A lovely letter from my partner in green ink on Hogwarts letterhead, surrounded by all my goodies!  Each one has a cute little note about her inspiration for the enclosed item(s)

In the smallest box were these two necklaces:

a luna-inspired cork (maybe this will help me keep my big mouth shut when I should, haha!) and a flying key!

Next up we have an adorable hand-embroidered shirt for my son!  It has a lightning bolt on the front pocket, and says "Muggle-born" across the shoulders in back!  I can't wait until he grows into it!

An awesome wall-hanging of my favorite quote (Can you believe this was her first ever embroidery?!

And last but far from least:

An emergency dementor kit!  It has a spare wand, a box for Honeyduke's Chocolates, and a little memory book to make sure you can come up with the most powerful happy memories Cheesy  The memory book is hand-painted with a cute little rabbit patronus, too!

Thank you SO much, MonstersUnderYourBe d, I love it all!  I can only hope you like your package as much Smiley

and thank you, padfoot, for organizing such a fun swap!

28  Re: Zelda Swap + Zelda baby shower GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by ambermoony on: July 24, 2010 05:54:07 PM
I received from whyfish earlier this week, and finally found batteries for my camera!

When I opened the box, I was greeted by a treasure chest...

when the music finally stopped and I could see what was in it, I found these two cute illustrated wrappers!

... but the drawings were really code for what was inside

Triforce earrings and a Link necklace!  (I hated to take them back off for the picture XD)
And of course, I saved the best for last....
GANONDORF!

There is amazing detail on this thing; just look at the crown and textured hair, I was so blown away!

it doesn't hurt that I have some serious Ganon love (which will result in my son forever cursing the fact that I was the one who named him XD)
and here's the whole kit and kaboodle:

I love it all, thank you so much, whyfish!

Back to craft items!

This is the lovely chainmaille necklace I received from EcoQueen!  It's a beautiful bronze color with beads along each edge, in the colors of the four nations.  It is absolutely gorgeous and looks great on me Cheesy

BugPop just got my package, yay!  but it seems her friends like her items just as much as she does, and have made off with them before she could get pictures, so she asked if I could post~

A modern Little Red Riding Hat

"Big Bad" and "Wolf" arm bands

And a print of an imagined book cover
