Okay, I've been reading lots of posts lately with LYS horror stories, so I thought, for a positive change, we could share some of the good ones.
I'll start: Northwest Wools in Portland, Oregon, has the nicest clerks ever.  And a great selection.

Has anyone ever seen 14" circular needles?  I'm teaching a group of beginners to make legwarmers.  16" is a bit too big, but I find the 12" needles kind of uncomfortable, especially for beginners.  I don't want to frighten them with double-points.  Any clues would be very helpful.

Hi,
  I'm seriously puzzled by Jennie Atkinson's Beaded Shrug pattern that appears in the book Romantic Style (lace hooded shrug, made with Kidsilk Haze).  Anyone made this and have any suggestions?  She says to CO 134 stitches for the sleeve cuff.  Seems fishy to me...
