1  Baby Blankets & Booties in Crochet: Completed Projects by Kayly666 on: May 18, 2009 09:55:05 PM
So being spring, apparently people are mating and reproducing, here are the first two of the four baby blankets I'm making for my friends/family.

This one is for my friend's brother's new baby, its by far my favourite, I got the pattern off of a yarn label if anyone is interested I can hunt down the brand.

This one is for that same friend's best friend's in-process-baby, the pattern is from one of those little free patterns at Michael's.

This is a baby bootie I was testing out for my best friends baby, I plan to perfect it before she gives birth.

and finally, a very cute (but very sideways) picture of my kitty when she decided the star blanket should be for her, not for the baby, its one of her best pictures because you can't see her gigantic stomach (no, the cat isn't pregnant too, she is just severely overweight)

2  70s decorating HELP NEEDED in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Kayly666 on: July 20, 2007 11:34:44 PM
I'm helping a friend decorate her new bachelor apt. She wants a red kitchen and brown/orange color scheme in the rest of the house.

I need as many ideas as possible keeping in mind that she's on a slim budget.

Here's a picture she chose as her ideal decor.

3  Popcan Ashtray TUTORIAL in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Kayly666 on: June 28, 2007 12:27:04 AM
There was some debate on the Links Board as to how to do this because the instrutions were in spanish so I decided to make an english tutorial.

Supplies:
  • Pop can
  • Scissors
  • Tape Measurer
  • Marker (preferably dry erase)

Step One:
Cut the top off of your can (about an inch from the lip)

Step Two:
Mark a straight line around your can an inch from the bottom.
At the top make a dot every cm.

Step Three:
Cut at each dot down your can stopping at the line

Step Four
Flatten all of your strips

Step Five
Fold a strip diagonally to the left over the strip next to it on the.

Step Six
Fold the first strip back to the right underneath the other strip.

Step Seven:
Continue steps FIVE and SIX until your can is complete and looks like this...

4  Fugly to fabulous chair in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Kayly666 on: June 25, 2007 11:15:13 PM
I found this chair on the side of the road but its fabric was aweful (and the house it was lying in front of looked questionable so I didn't know who'd been sitting on it) so in good craftster spirit I carried it home and rooted through my stash for something suitable.

Before

The fabric was ripped but the foam inside was still good so I used it instead of replacing it.

After

Much prettier. I'm really happy with it.

I added ribbon to hide a couple staples

I'm proud of myself

5  Adding Lining to a Dress. in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Kayly666 on: April 30, 2007 05:58:58 PM
I'm making this dress:

The fabric I chose is a little transparent so I had to get some lining. The skirt part doesn't call for lining so there are no instructions. There is a zipper in the back. I'm having trouble figuring out how to attach the lining and main fabric.

Also how do I do the bottom dress with two fabrics?

6  Two New Bags (edited) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Kayly666 on: April 06, 2007 01:56:19 PM
Made these not too long ago thought I'd share with you guys.

Checkered fabric, with tiny cherries inside. The bag is made of 100% cotton fabrics. The outside pocket has a button closure and there is a pocket on the inside (just big enough to hold a pack of smokes if thats your thing)  The bamboo handles are attached with black satin ribbon and are 100% removeable

This bag is 100% cotton with sheet music printed fabric in black and white, there is a tie that sits just slightly below the shoulder.
