metal strapping? I've never seen that before, I have a timber yard near hear but they use plastic webbing stuff. I must keep an eye out, thanks!!!

yay for twirly skirts!

Does anyone know of a pattern featuring a dress like this?  I've searched and googled "tent dress" but have had no luck!!  I would love to sew a dress/top like this for my daughter!  I did find a similar top (Burda 9694) but my daughter has outgrown the children sizes.

Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping someone can point me in the right direction!

I would use 2 big trapeziums with the desired neck line for the body, 2 smaller more wonky ones for each of the sleaves. That would give you a fairly versitile very simple A-line  shirt/dress. Thats probs not much help though lol

Erm cotton I guess, it feels like cotton but it could be some weird man made thing, the trim is luminous pink satin-esq ribbon(also for cheaps lol

 O.K so I know I said I would post pics of the corsets I made recently, but my model (my sister) refuses to let me use the pics and they weren't made to fit me. So heres my latest skirt instead.
I really like the way it turned out at the back coz it was kinda "frankenstiened". it reminds me of bettlejuice but I don't know why, must be the stripes I think(I found them in the off cuts section, £3.00 for 2m- fabric is expensive here.)

 Good for you! Its a great shirt where ever the idea came from, there shouldn't be a debate about whether or not you should state a source, you saw something that inspired you and got creative- people do that everyday on craftster.

Its beautiful, really. I would love to see a shot of the back and maybe know a little more about how you made it if you don't mind sharing with us untalented people.
