11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Fabric ATC R2? on: July 31, 2007 07:58:31 AM
Is anyone up for another Fabric ATC swap? I know on the last one we had some organizer issues toward the end, but all in all it was a lot of fun. I could organize (my first!!) with signups the latter part of August, and send outs mid-September. For those interested, if certain dates don't work, please post here.

Here is the previous round ... http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=168523.0.
12  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Anyone ever taught an ATC class? on: June 30, 2007 09:16:31 AM
In the midst of getting unpacked and settled, I have signed on to teach an intro to ATCs at the local craft store in Sept/Oct. Has anyone ever done this, or taught any other classes, for that matter? Or taken a class and have it really suck (knowing what NOT to do is as important as knowing what to do!). I have some ideas, but just thought I would check my resources to see what words of wisdom might be floating around out there  Wink! The long term goal is to generate enough interest so that we can do quarterly get-togethers for swapping and learning from each other.

Thanks, in advance!
13  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Plain commercial journal dressed up on: March 12, 2007 10:39:56 AM
This is a regular commercial journal that I found really cheap. I took an old white sheet, cut it up and colored it using paints and fabric crayons, embroidered a flower and my daughter's name on it, and centered it on the front cover using heavy duty adhesive tape. It was a fun, quick project.

14  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Wings x3 on: March 03, 2007 03:21:33 PM
Here are my entries:

My favorite, Freedom from Gravity:

From Kitty Hawk to Space; the metal piece in the middle says "Explore"; the background is blue butterfly wings (images), with sharpie doodling:

In Memory; has a real butterfly wing I found a couple years ago (yes, I really kept it that long waiting for the right thing to use it on!); around the wing it says "In memory of one who flies no more"; piece at the bottom says "Live ... love ... laugh":

All three together ... sorry they are angled, but I have had a difficult time with flash glare today!
15  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Stylized Clipboard on: March 03, 2007 03:05:38 PM
Not sure if this is the best place for this topic, but I did use paper! I recently decoupaged a boring clipboard I had laying around. The detail was added with sharpies. I love the way it turned out ... unfortunately my daughter has hijacked it so I don't get to look at it that often! The photos are slightly crooked as I was trying to minimize a viscious flash glare.

Here is the front:

16  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 17 ENTRIES / Time Does Not Wait on: February 25, 2007 02:02:42 PM
Collage clock I recently made using a little bit of pretty much everything. The clock mechanism itself is just one I purchased from a craft store. The face says "Time does not wait".

17  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Crazy Quilt/Collage pillows on: October 05, 2006 11:15:10 AM
I move back and forth between working with paper and working more with fabric ... right now I am on a fabric binge, specifically with pillows! These are two I recently made where I incorporated a lot of things ... I am definitely from the school of "more is ... more!" Grin
