1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Handmade Bird Swap, Sweat Shoppe Style! -- SEND OUT 4/30 on: May 12, 2009 05:24:13 PM
I received my last bird yesterday, so here are the final three (I had not gotten around to putting them up here yet!):

This bright little birdie is from Oh That ... I love the fabrics.

A lovely little bird from an old Finnish-Swedish dictionary, with poetic writing by Foxlet. It is really beautiful, and just makes me smile when I read it. She also sent along an origami bird, and a version of this with a purple background so that I could choose which I liked best.

And my final arrival, Larry, from Babbetto. I so love Babs birds, and am very happy to now have one to call my own!

Thanks so much to all of my partners. This has been a wonderful swap!

It is really amazing to see all the different forms the birds are taking. The wire wrapped one is really inspired!

I recieved this awesome on from jrain a couple of days ago, and am just now getting the picture up. Very, very cool ...

I also recieved yesterday from OhThat, but it will be another day or so before I get a picture.
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Handmade Bird Swap, Sweat Shoppe Style! -- SEND OUT 4/30 on: May 07, 2009 08:03:56 AM
... The first is a beautiful fabric bird from Colorfuldayz. I am totally in awe of the patience and skill which went into this. There must be about a hundred french knots ...

That is funny! Not quite a hundred, but I was happy to be done with them when I finished the last one! Glad you like~
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: NEW PORTRAIT-- 'Lil Brudder! on: May 07, 2009 07:46:45 AM
These are absolutely fabulous!! As someone else said, I would love to see a tutorial, or even a little brief summary of how you got from picture to design.

How fun, with all the little birdies coming home to roost! I am amazed at all the different takes on it. I love the woodburning. I also received one of jrain's amazing papercut owls in a forest, and will post a picture later of it. This is a really great swap~

Wow, what a wonderful start to the book!!

Thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to participate again. I loved doing it last year, and was really excited when I got your PM about this year's. Creating is always fun, but when you know it is for something meaningful it makes it even better.

Can't wait to see the rest~
