81  Re: May card-a-day club Gallery in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by Colorfuldayz on: May 15, 2007 03:29:25 PM
Finally got my MOnday card done ... on Tuesday!

It is called Keep Grow N, and is just gel pen doodles on a background of collaged papers on watercolor paper, a layer of gesso, a layer of watercolor crayons and soft pastels, and then random gel transfers of words from newsprint. It scanned the teeniest bit off center (the scanner has the problems, not me, of course  Grin) so if it looks a little "off" it isn't your eyes.

Man, you guys have been busy ... what beautiful cards!

Random Asia is gorgeous ... I have never dyed with food coloring, but will definitely put it on my "to do" list. The results are incrediable.

Amaryllisroze, the Graces are beautiful. Everything goes together perfectly. It looks very refined.

Patti, I am rolling. Her expression is totally a Double-Dog Dare ... I haven't heard that in ages, either!

Goatgoddess ... your cards are always great, but I especially like the layers on this one.

Tee, my fav of your group is hand holding the Pez. Did you paint that or is it an old ad? Pez are so fun!

Here is my contribution for Monday, called Daydreams. Just random thoughts in the day with doodles, using a black gel pen and my daughter's Crayola pencils.

Wow, what fabulous cards have popped up over the last couple of days. I am especially in love with your Asian cards, Tee! And the Zetti legs with the bottlecap face is wonderful!!!

Here is my Monday card ... one I made for Goatgoddess. I was thinking about how often women over-extend themselves taking care of everyone but themselves. It is called Rule #1:

Funny that there is so much Beatles talk ... I went to Vegas to see the Cirque du Soleil Beatles LOVE show this past weekend (AWESOME)!

Anyway, this is my Monday card, on Tuesday (barely) ... Opposites, last of the Marital Bliss series:

Looks like I am first ... I received Stealaline's card yesterday and quickly got obsessed with it. Here are the results ... enjoy!!! The quotes along the bottom and sides are "Friendship blooms in unusual places," "Bloom where U R planted," and "Grow Tall."

The original lines are heavy black crayon, but by the end there was so much going on they were even hard for me to find. So, I did a mock of the original so that you could see how it looked to start.

86  Plain commercial journal dressed up in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Colorfuldayz on: March 12, 2007 10:39:56 AM
This is a regular commercial journal that I found really cheap. I took an old white sheet, cut it up and colored it using paints and fabric crayons, embroidered a flower and my daughter's name on it, and centered it on the front cover using heavy duty adhesive tape. It was a fun, quick project.

I decided to make use of some scraps I had left from a crazy quilt pillow spree, so ended up with a lot of ATC crazy quilt cards that just need the final embellishment. Here is the first one of them I completed, for a trade with Crafty Diane.

This is the Chinaberry Tree made for me by Crafty Diane ... isn't it gorgeous?  Grin:
