1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Simple - but great looking - Scarf with Tutorial IMG Heavy on: December 10, 2006 08:33:46 AM
I make lots of scarfs for everybody else, but never for me. But I love this one so much I think I'll have to make it for my own personal use. So original!

I really liked this clay. It's good for big cartoonish kinds of things. It really lends itself to musrooms  Smiley

I think the earrings idea is great. I'll try to post pics if they turn out well.

Have you gotten it to work? I have never been able to see the photobucket pics on my computer. It's always the things I want to see the most, and they're just never there!

Wow thanks, I'm so happy everyone likes it! And I'm happy more people can make these. There so much fun for everybody involved. I think the altoid tin/paint idea is a good modification - good for keeping the lids on tighter too.

burstandbloom: I was in fact referring to your amazing advent calendar, which I love so much. Maybe next year we should join an advent calendar swap and trade.  Smiley

I just made an advent calendar myself (I posted the completed one yesterday) and it was the most satisfying gift to make. I want to make more next year so post more pictures as you go please! I especially want to know the activities you're putting on the papers.

So this isn't The Most Amazing Advent Calendar Ever Made, but I am still pretty happy with how things turned out. They're for my 4&6 year old cousins.

I had a bunch of empty mint tins around - left over from wedding favors I never made - so first I filled them with tons of dollar store stuff. Second I wrapped two magnetic marker boards with wrapping paper. Last I put paper and numbers on the tops of the tins and magnets on the bottom. That's it!

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Nintendo Wii ideas on: November 22, 2006 06:19:13 PM
Thanks for the ideas! I do think I'll make some sort of place for the remotes to go. They're pretty valuable (50$ a set!) and they are already getting put wherever people drop them. I'm learning to sew so this seems perfect for a project.

The shapes of the controllers are a little weird, especially the nunchuck. I really don't know how to describe its dimensions.

The other idea I had was from Craft: http://www.craftzine.com/blog/archive/2006/11/diy_laptop_decals.html
these decals seem perfect for the side of the Wii. I don't know what I'd put on them though.

New ideas still appriciated!

My friend stayed up all night last night in front of Target in the cold to bring me and him a Wii. He has succeeded and I need some way to thank him. I really want to make him something for the Wii, but I'm just not coming up with anything much. My first thought was a Wii cozy like for our DS's, but I don't think that would really work with it now that I see it. Any ideas out there?

Smiley Thanks. I think it was just the Crayola brand. I may make more Mario stuff because this medium is definitely not for detailed sculptures. Although it does lend itself to painting or marker-ing very well. And the colors mix nicely.

I made a Jason from Home Movies (Adult Swim) that I loved. But I gave it away. If I can get it back for a while I'll post that picture too.

I obviously looove this super mario bros. mushroom. This was my first project with just some air drying clay. It's my keyring now.
