2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Summer hat for my Mom on: July 01, 2008 10:28:53 AM
I've been doing a lot of crafting for my mom lately Cheesy
Here is the latest:

Not really in shape here, but we were on the road and I was happy to finish it. It's all Peaches n cream cotton, white, except for the band, which is a multi with purple, lime and aqua. I lost the label somewhere along the way so I couldn't tell you the exact name. Pattern came from somewhere online, I printed it out before I left, but it was confiscated by my Gramma to use when we were at her house. So I can't tell you that either. I'm just overflowing with lots of help today!

4  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 27 ENTRIES / Cedar Feeder Lamp on: May 04, 2008 07:49:45 PM
My inspiration for this lamp came from my desire for a bird in the house. I love birds, my hubby does not. So I made a little nice feeder into a lamp, and imagine the birds I could feed Cheesy

Start with a cedar bird feeder and extra hand

Make a few modifications to the mini fowl-food holder

Find a place to hang it, and admire your work...

Decoration optional, go with your heart Cheesy Mine said "Natural," but I may add a bird at a later time, if I can bead one up that I like, maybe a blue jay, wouldn't that look stunning against the copper of the lamp?!!! The warmth of bulb causes the scent of cedar to fill the room, and is such a wonderful extra to this project.  Cheesy Thanks for looking!!! Kiss
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / I need color, your opinions, some new ideas! on: April 30, 2008 01:05:14 PM
I've been at a stand-still with this purse for a while, and was hoping for some ideas. I'd like to add some color to this, but none of my own ideas sit well with me.

A new one I've thought of is some small painting around the edges. Anyway, I'm not quite sure. It still needs a closure, so maybe I could incorporate color that way?

So anyone have an idea???
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Garden crib quilt on: April 22, 2008 10:27:03 AM
My objective for creating this quilt for a custom order was to capture the essence of a rose garden. I really love how it came out, but as I was packaging it up I thought, "Gee this looks rather Christmassy"

Everyone loves it, but next time I will use different colors together Cheesy

A matching nap-time companion, no buttons or anything, safe for teeny-tiny's

Thanks for coming to see!
7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Macro Photo Challenge : Happy Accident on: April 21, 2008 03:35:08 PM
I've had this challenge in the back of my mind since it started, since I'm always looking for any excuse to pull out my camera.

Anyhow, my pins toppled over, they're on a magnet holder, and I thought, "Hmm, wonder how close I can get?" And here ya go!!

I give you my 'Happy Accident'

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / HUGE tote on: April 04, 2008 02:18:12 PM
I made this for the color swap and thought I'd share it here since I hadn't posted a bag in a while

It's about 14x16, and has a plain inside for large items (no pockets). It has the heavy duty Pellon interfacing, so it's pretty stiff. My favorite part is the satin rope trim at the top. It's really just for looks, but I think it adds a lot to the bag. The bottom and handles are cotton velvet, for extra sturdiness.
Well, thanks for looking!
9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / A pretty journal, if I may say so myself... on: April 04, 2008 02:02:14 PM
This is my first post over here in Paper Crafts, Hi everyone!

I made this for the Favorite color swap I just finished. My partner has received her package already, so I wanted to share here. I's been a while since I've made any journals, and I forgot how oddly soothing it is. I always relax when I do any kind of hand sewing... I used sketch paper, and left the edges a little rough, I though it was a nice contrast to the fabric, which actually has gold accents, even though you can't see them. The rings around the flowers are gold. That's why the ribbon is gold, in case you were wondering Tongue

So what do y'all think? Should I send my journal making back into dormancy??
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / 3 month quickie bag on: February 22, 2008 04:38:21 PM
This one was supposed to only take a couple hours. However, it got buried when I rearranged my crafting area, and just saw the light of day today. So after 3 months, this quick bag is finished!!

Just a simple mid-sized duffle, no pockets or extras. I made it from stretch twill and lime green cotton inside, with the intention of it being an extra bag to stuff into a suitcase for travel souvenirs to bring back home, etc. (stuffed with a throw for shape) It's for one of my sisters that travels a lot, and last time she came, her tiny 'extras' bag was bursting at the seams. Maybe with a bigger bag, she'll bring me back more goodies!!!

Thanks for looking!
