I received my magic yarn ball from Esmerelda  Grin  I was so spoiled!

Here is a picture of it as it arrived:

And here it is as a Calorimetry after knitting furiously for a day:

She included a bath bomb, some beautiful buttons, stitch markers, earrings, barrettes, and a pin.  And some candy, but considering I had a 3 year-old helping me knit, that didn't make it into the final photo LOL

Thanks again, Esmerelda.

I claim gavagai for the messenger bag.  This is my second claim, none sent, and I am in Canada.

I have to offer:

(you can choose 2 lots of fabric if you like)

1.  2 pieces of J Crew fabric, lightbulb is 50"x12", shuttlecock is 38"x12"

2.  3 pieces of nature fabric, bear is 24"x11", vegetable is 14"x11", bird is 14"x12"

3.  3 pieces of celestial fabric, sun & moon is 42"x10", wizard is 14"x12", owl is 18"x12"

4.  Linea tote bag embroidery kit (not in original package, but is all there)

5.  Linea tote bag embroidery kit (not in original package, but is all there)

6.  Cross stitch supplies - 3 different bookmark fabrics, and a baby bib.

7.  four pages from the colorbok chipboard chunk package for scrapbooking/ATCs.  I will include 2 alphabet pages, one frame or tag page, and one word page.  I will punch out the shapes to make it smaller for shipping.

59  fleece help in Spinning: Discussion and Questions by gatheredthreads on: January 10, 2007 03:17:47 PM
I wanted a couple of pounds of roving for my birthday, to try my hand at spinning.  What I got instead was a huge bag of raw fleece of unknown origin.  I have no experience with this, so it could be interesting  Tongue

It is freezing and snowy outside here, so I have nowhere to sort and clean the fleece.  What I did was take some of the cleaner fleece and wash it in the washer using instructions from the web.

This is after three washes:

My questions: are the yellow coloured parts no good?  or is that a natural variation of fleece?  What do I do about the parts that aren't coming clean?  are they unusable?  should I try carding it and washing again?

Thanks in advance Smiley

would there be interest in hand-painted fabrics (excuse the wrinkles LOL):

or hand-dyed fabrics:

All the above are done on prewashed cotton with screenprinting dye, and heat set so they are washable.

Would people prefer a fat quarter?  or a couple of smaller pieces?

or netted glitz fabric:

closeup:

This is cool for making ornaments out of, or little amulet bags, or for card making, ATCs, etc.  it is not washable, and I usually make it about 12" square.  It is more sparkly than it looks in the photo.
