1  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / HULAween party! on: August 30, 2007 07:17:00 AM
We're having a Halloween costume party this year, with a Hawaiian theme - a HULAween party! The house will be decorated like a haunted Hawaiian resort (but obviously nothing too gory, because quite a few kids will be in attendance), and we'd like some more ideas of things we can do.

So far, we've got: the limbo, a hula hoop contest, costume contest, a campfire, and "spooky" leis.

Any other ideas would be appreciated!  Smiley
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Awesome pillow from company work shirt on: November 19, 2006 07:39:10 PM
Recently my husband's boss was coming to town for training and I wanted to give her some sort of remembrance of her visit here for work.  I decided to reconstruct a company polo shirt into a throw pillow for her to take back home.  It was my first attempt at reconstructing and it was so simple to do!  Smiley

I left the pocket on the right side of the shirt (though it's not very visible in the picture) so that a sachet could be inserted, perhaps with lavendar potpourri to help her relax after a hard day at work.

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Help! Gift for a 47-year-old Disney lover. on: September 29, 2006 03:55:16 PM
A good friend of mine has a birthday coming up, and she LOVES Disney and all things related to it. She's the type who doesn't really need anything, and seems like she already has everything. Since everything she has is purchased, what do you get or make for someone like her?

Like I said, she'll be 47, she has 2 kids (both under 10-years-old), an older daughter, and 2 grandchildren.

I can sew, make jewelry, and other crafty things. No crocheting or knitting, though.

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Serger help on: September 29, 2006 03:36:54 PM
I am evidently having trouble threading my Serger properly. I believe I'm following all the directions correctly, but it still won't chain. Can someone please tell me where I've gone awry?

PS: It's a Brother, if that helps.

Thanks in advance.
