31  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Bags from Lithuania on: October 14, 2006 04:47:16 AM
Thanks for the internet link. I think later on when I no more I can make one.
You don't have to do the first purse. That looks difficult to explain. Thanks for all of your help,
Susie

Oh it is OK that you don't do this for me. I can see where that would be difficult. I'm sure you could use your time better to knit.
Thanks so much though.
Beautiful work,
Susie

If I need one?  Tongue I am still having to look up what the pattern means all the time. Last night I was working on a wedding cake dishcloth and it said to PSSO. I didn't have a clue what it was. Smiley
If you have the time that would be great,
Susie

Your head is very smart. Smiley
How about letting us know if your head ever puts them down on paper. That would be great.
Susie who is a newbie knitter. Smiley

Wow, I love the second and the last one most. Great job. Are these from books or are they free patterns some where?

Ya, I was thinking the same thing. As long as I'm not going to 'wear' the purse it doesn't mattter too much about gauge. Smiley BUT.......I will get as close as I can to the suggested yarn.
Thanks,
Susie

That will help out a lot. You know I have a few books and I bet there is something in there about it too. I should have taken the time to check.
I appreciate you answering as I didn't think will how busy this place is anyone would notice me. LOL.
Thanks,
Susie

I'm a fairly new knitter and was wondering how you know what yarns you can substitute for another in a pattern.
For instance: I'm looking at the Chinese Charm Bag in the Stitch N B*tch Book and it says you need Noro Gemsones (57% rayon/17% acrylic/21% nylon/5% cashmere/ 50g/65 yrds), 6 skeins #8.
US 10 (6mm) 24" circular needle.
Gauge is 12 sts and 18 rows = 4" in St st (k all rnds).
So do I look for any yarn that says guage is 12 sts and uses US 10?
I understand I may here "do a gauge" but with what yarn do I start trying the gauge? Does all yarn say on it gauge is .........?
Am I confused? LOL.
Thanks for the help,
Susie in northern NY
