1  Re: Felt Mascot or Little Stuffie Swap - R4 -- Gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by laughingsquid on: June 22, 2007 01:41:55 PM
i received from mariskalovescrafts today! i was super surprised because i went to our mail room and my name wasn't on the board for a package but i asked anyways. i'm really glad i did that because the postal clerk just forgot to write my name up there. hehe.

i LOVE everything! thank you SO MUCH, mariska! i actually squealed like a little girl when i opened the box. Cheesy

meet "spacey" the alien kitty!

she is from the planet pluto. she came to see how our cats live on planet earth. but now she likes our planet so much, she doesn't want to leave! in the time she stayed with mariskalovescrafts, she noticed that spacey loves to watch the show alf, but i shouldn't show the movie alien to her, she doesn't like it at all. spacey loves honey and caramel a lot.

thank you SO much again mariska! i will give her a great home and i'll show her many other cats  Grin

OMG! i finally was able to pick up my angel packages and i got 2! one from novastarlet and one from iamsusie! thank you guys. <3 novastarlet sent me ian. he plays the drums for a black metal band called rapid rabbits. on weekends he likes to knit. lol. she also sent me 2 freakin awesome (and funny) stickers. then iamsusie sent me accessories for ian! a loaf of bread, a hunk of swiss cheese, 4 teeny tiny chocolate chip cookies and 3 mini books! these were all stuffed in this really cute felt tote. anyways, onto the pictures!

this is everything except the stickers. (don't mind my fish tank and my tiger. lol)

sticker number one: downer tragic softner

sticker number two: witch bone wench dressing

7  my first homemade stocking - hawaiian christmas! in Winter Holidays by laughingsquid on: December 03, 2006 06:28:27 PM
alright, me and my roommate decided to decorate this year in a hawaiian theme. this was an awesome idea except that normal red stockings just would fit. what to do? well, make your own of course!

i bought hawaiian shirts from goodwill for $7 each, used an unwanted white t-shirt for the lining, and a strip of craft fur for the trim. i'm in the process of finishing the second one but i finished hers and here it is:

because of the angle it looks like the bottom is really wide but i assure you it's just the angle.

as you can see the lining is just a white t-shirt

i can tell you that hand sewing that fur stuff was a pain because i couldn't see my needle in all the fluff! i stabbed myself numerous times and actually got blood on the fur... shhh, don't tell my roommate. lol

8  felt totoro in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by laughingsquid on: October 08, 2006 07:37:05 PM
i made this totoro for my roommate and she loves him! i made my own pattern from looking at the dvd cover. everything is made from felt and i hand embroidered the pupils in the eyes, nose and mouth. the craft store nearest me didn't have off-white felt so i dyed a piece of white with tea and that's what the tummy is made of. he can stand on his own because of his little tail in the back. overall he's about 5 inches tall from his feet to his ears.

9  first post - plushie bee in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by laughingsquid on: October 04, 2006 09:05:34 PM
hey everyone, i'm new to craftster and i feel like i'm home here. i've been making random things like beanie baby clothes for a long time but this is my first plushie. it's a bee and he's for my mom. she's afraid of bees and wasps (i am too) and this guy will scare them away for her. since i don't have a sewing machine he's all hand-sewn and i managed to get some wire in the stitching in his wings so they bend! please tell me what you think!
