WOW. VIII was/is my favorite Final Fantasy, so yay for more VIII love!

Your creations are fantastic. How'd you construct the body? With clay, or paper?

Did you use a specific pattern for the head shape, or did you make it up as you went? It looks fantastic--I'd love to learn how you created it so that I may steal replicate it someday.

This is absolutely fantastic! I might have to make one at some point! Do you have a ravelry pattern page for it, as well? You should--and then add your notes on how you changed it, I bet a lot of people on ravelry would appreciate it. Smiley
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Creating cable pattern from existing piece on: February 02, 2014 09:00:22 PM
Never mind! I think I got it! If anyone wants a completed chart, I'll try and put one together in an actual chart and upload it.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Creating cable pattern from existing piece on: February 02, 2014 08:15:44 PM
I found this photo and I'm trying to recreate the cable pattern, but without much success. I think the angles are confusing my headcold-fogged brain. Is anyone any good at this/has seen this cable pattern around anywhere already charted out?
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting gloves without palms on: November 13, 2011 10:40:25 PM
My palms tend to get sweaty if I wear fingerless gloves while typing or knitting. I'm thinking of knitting a set of fingerless gloves (with the cut off fingers, I prefer those to a straight cut off top) but only doing the back of the hand and leaving the front where the palm is open. I think the best way to do this would be to start in the round for the ribbed cuff at the bottom, then switch to just back and forth knitting for the back of the hand. I would increase on the side for the thumb, and then just cast on stitches for the thumb afterwards, and cast on more stitches at the top of the hand in order to do the fingers.

Any suggestions or comments, or perhaps a better way to do this? Or even an already existing pattern?

If you would post a pattern for these little guys, I would love you forever! I nanny for a 3-year-old, and he is ALL ABOUT THE DINOSAURS right now! Would love to make him a little army of them for Christmas!
Seconded!

Doctor Who Labyrinth Style Worm! (11th Doctor)

Close up of the face/fez/bowtie. You can see the brown spots on his face in this picture. You can also see the slight blue tint of the paint I used on his stomach.

Side shot. You can see the brown that is on his sides, separating his belly and his back.

River Song is next!

Just finished one with blue fur like the one from the movie, but he has a fez and a bowtie--he's a Dr Who worm! I'll be making one with a creamy brown color fur and that one will be a River Song worm. Cheesy

Edited to add: I'll try to post a picture later!
